admittedly Lucy had backed out of the office rather hastily, so walking straight into someone was to be expected. she muttered an earnest apology as she still got her bearings, and then the apology slowed as she registered into whom she had backed. "I'm terribly sorry, sir, really..."
Begrudgingly walking down the hall, reading over his ânew job descriptionâ another time, Blackwater couldnât help but let out a foul word or two at feeling another body collide with him. Hearing her quiet apology, however, made him sigh and temporarily shake off his anger. âItâs fine⌠Where were you going in such a hurry?â
"That I wasnât aware impressment was still a viable means of employment?" Â she raised a brow. Â "Or was it something before that?"
"No no, it was about that." He furrowed his brow a bit. "May I ask how that happened? What did they do to you to make you take this job?"
"Impressment," she said simply. Â "I didnât have a choice. Â I was coming in to see somebodyâanybodyâabout an issue concerning a friend of mine, for which I was certain Strex was responsible. Â I checked in at Security, saw my name matched the name of the past assistantâwho was an infamously terrible workerâand told me a had a new job.
"But, I will say, Ms. Sonrienteâs been really rather kind to me, all things considered. Â Iâve proven my use to her, and sheâs afforded me a few allowances."
"I see..." He shrugged and pulled over the cup of coffee the waitress left on the table. "It sounds like you got the lucky shake of the stick when it came to employment. Good for you kiddo."
