The fall colors in Colorado have been pretty amazing this year, but the weather's just been too nice for some epic landscape photography... I feel like I haven't seen a cloud in weeks! I can't believe how much it feels like fall out there right now... It's one of those short summers that's felt both super busy and super lazy at the same time. On the Teton Crest Trail, after a 4 am wakeup to slog 3 miles from camp in Alaska Basin up Hurricane Pass to shoot sunrise, of course the clouds and color were not where I needed them. So, I pulled out the zoom... Cascade Canyon in front, Mt Moran in the back, and a lot of gnarly ridges in-between. The night before setting out on the Teton Crest Trail, the mountains decided to give us an unreal light show from camp. . Back from an epic two week road trip and backpacking trip through the Tetons and Yellowstone. I was up for most sunrises and stayed out for most sunsets and I can't remember ever having such a successful photo-trip... Many, many more pictures to come and since I didn't have service most of the time, I'll be putting up some older stories on here as well! Not-Horseshoe-Bend Horseshoe Bend - No parking lot full of tour buses, no selfie sticks being waved all over, no bratty kids running around off trail, no other photographers jostling for position... in fact, over the course of 9 hours, not another soul in sight.
