Connection: Chris’ favorite uncle. He has a daughter about their age, a little younger than Chris, and a little older than Ari. He’s all the classic Kingdon traits: smart, loyal, and not to be taken lightly. He’s a lawyer but trade that usually operates out of either the US or in Paris. He’ll never tell anyone this but he absolutely adores his niece and nephew (that he has to, it’s obvious by how much he spoils them).

“what?! no, how could you - it’s not -” for a boy raised on elegance and communication, both skills seemed to be failing him now. he can see her heart reflected in her large blue eyes, and he’s about to break it. again. he drops his face into his hands, trying to pull his composure together, before roughly running a hand through his hair. he whispered a quiet dios mio as he mulled over how to phrase what he was going to say. “you’re amazing, marinette. you’re talented, and kind, and sweet, and always there to help everyone else. but i…i see you as a friend. and only a friend. my heart….it belongs to someone else.” even if she’d probably never return his affections. “i’m SORRY, marinette.”

is it because of me? am i not enough? marinette can’t believe she just asked him that. was that the kind of person she was? adrien didn’t owe her an explanation, he didn’t owe her anything. as painful as that was. her eyes fell to her feet as the weight of his words finally fell on her. her shoulder’s slumped, her petite frame seeming to curl in on itself as she picked at her nails. “i--” she swallowed, she couldn’t seem to lift her head to look him in the eyes. marinette knew what she should say. she knew what she should do. she should tell him that she hoped they could still be friends, that this was just a silly crush and she would get over it, after all, she knew how adrien felt about his friends. except it wasn’t a just a silly crush and it hurt. GOD did it hurt. “don’t be sorry adrien. i gotta--” she felt limp. she felt...empty.

brandy knows she probably looks ridiculous, an 18 year old girl standing up against a 22 year old drunk guy but she couldn’t just not do something! the guy had been trying–badly–to flirt with alex and it was pretty obvious she wasn’t having it. and the guy was only getting angrier with every rebuff. brandy glared at the male–though she probably looked a little like a kid pouting than actually angry–as she followed behind the older girl.

   “you…” alex honestly can’t remember the last time she had an actual relationship - and she was still unsure if they were in a relationship, but it sure felt like it. she couldn’t muster up a snarky answer, not in response to his sweet gesture. instead her surprised expression melts into something soft, lower lip caught between her teeth as her eyes shone. “i like stupid puns, crude humor, and vines. i can’t stand kids being hurt, or families that betray on another.”

chris watched in near fascination as alex’s entire expression changed with one simple sentiment (one simple, true, heartfelt sentiment). a chuckle escapes his lips as he pulls her nearer to him, pressing his lips to her temple. the sound is almost teasing but it’s different somehow. “you are…you something you know that?” he isn’t even sure what he means by it but it feels true.
