ethan looked up from the book in front of him as he yet again heard the pencil against the book, sending annoyance up his spine and he was sure that it was clear on his face. “aren’t you meant to be focusing on what you’re doing so you don’t get kicked out?” some people might have thought otherwise but being in a study room was the last place he wanted to be. the only reason he was there was because tutoring helped him with extra credit and it was kinda good money which he was never going to say no to. getting the feeling that he’d completely lost river’s attention, ethan threw his pen onto the book in front of him and sat back. he could easily tell him that they were done for the night but he couldn’t help but be curious about what he had in mind. “you want to get to know me?” that surprised him since he was only there to help him improve his grades, he had more than enough friends. “sure…i guess. i’m guessing you had something in mind since you put it forward. kinda clear you’re not gonna actually do anything so 20 questions or something else?”
“i’m not gonna get kicked out.” river replied with an air of confidence that he truly didn’t deserve to be sporting. he had a feeling that things would work out, as they always did, though he definitely felt that maybe he could spent a little less time sleeping around and more time on his school work. wasn’t his fault it was so hard to focus on, though. river’s brows raised when ethan seemed to give up on pushing him to do the work, at least for the time being. his question made him smirk. “i mean, why not. could always use new friends.” he replied slyly, sitting up and throwing his arm around the back of his chair confidently. as he went on, he became amused at his idea of getting to know each other. “yeah, sure... 20 questions... truth or dare. whatever you’re feeling, buddy boy, but i wanna ask first.” he insisted. river could be very straight to the point, when he wanted to be. “may as well start with the questions... you into guys?”
