It would be fun, that’s what he had kept reminding himself as he told Teresa of the little scheme he’d concocted. Just a little fun to brighten things up for everyone. “We met waiting in line for coffee. When the drinks were called out, I took your drink instead, which got us talking and then our romance started,” Silas spun the tale, though after he finished, he paused, looking at Teresa as if a thought just dawned on him. “Or do you think that’s a little too…meet-cute? Should we change it?”
“Very good.” Teresa nodded along as Silas described the epic love story they had made up for this little charade of theirs. The brunette knew how awful the weight of being single could feel while visiting relatives with old school expectations. It was why she had agreed to this in the first place. That, and she oddly thought it could be fun to play a role with Silas for an evening. “No, no, let’s keep it. Sure, it’s cliché but people secretly love clichés. Your relatives will eat it up.” She assured. “Now, do I take your arm as we go in? Hold your hand?”

chloe smiled as she took a couple steps back so that she could frame the picture just right. “something like that,” she laughed. “i mostly just do youtube vlogs but i’ve been building my tiktok platfrom,” she explained while she took a couple pictures. “what do you think?” she asked as she turned the phone towards him so he could inspect her work.
“Vlogs huh?” Reese mused. “That’s pretty cool. What kind of vlogs to you do?” He questioned with curiosity as he fell out of his incredibly extra pose. He then stepped closer so that he could get a better look at the picture she had taken of him. “I think I look good as hell in front of that background.” He partially teased. “All thanks to my photographer of course.”

Ginny smiled as she successfully caught the employee’s attention, pleased with the assistance. “Yes, she’s 8 so that’s perfect,” Ginny said, nodding as the girl pointed to the left. However, the question of interests caused her to pause. “Interests…things she…enjoys?” It never crossed her mind how little she knew about Audrey until now, her mind drawing a complete blank. Though in her defense, she really hadn’t spent any time with her until recently.
“Well, her father mentioned that he took her to see that superhero movie once…I believe it involved a boy who is part spider,” she said, speaking in a confident tone to compensate for her cluelessness.
Danna could sense the woman’s hesitancy while answering her questions but didn't think much of it. She knew how overwhelming the whole comic book buying experience could be for those that knew little of them. Thus, she gave her the benefit of the doubt.
“Part spider...” Danna trailed until the light bulb went off over what the other meant. “Oh, Spider-Man.” Duh. “We have plenty of Spider-Man comics and graphic novels in stock.” Danna said as they led the customer over to a specific area of the kids comics section. “Peter Parker is the one portrayed in the current live action movies, but we also have tons of Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen comics if that’s more her cup of tea.”

Alyona gave a short nod at the question, and listened with an arched eyebrow. “Good, they have technicians here… excellent. I’d appreciate it if you could,” she replied, with a quick glance at the nails on her left hand. “I almost have cuticles right now– it’s pretty urgent,” and even admitting to as much was an embarrassment to her. “And, exclusive, you say? Sounds like exactly my kind of place.”
“Of course. No problem.” Teresa answered with a shrug. The entire situation was fascinating to her, but she honestly didn't blame the other female for approaching her. She would probably do the same thing if she were in her situation. “Oh, that is urgent.” The brunette commented whilst jotting down the information onto a brown napkin. “Here.” She began, handing the napkin over to Alyona. “Call this number ASAP and tell them Teresa recommended you.”
prcttyvxnom:
“if you were people watching, then what was the guy in the green shirt with the brown bowtie doing?” he asked simply. did other people pay as close to details as he did? he highly doubted it. surely no one else watched what everyone was doing so closely as if to remember everything they’d seen.
Danna scoffed at the question. “Just ‘cause I was people watching too doesn't mean I was paying as much attention to the exact same person as you.” She replied with and incredulous look. “I was more concerned about the couple having a bit of a crisis just now.”
honeyedblossom:
“Are you doubting my abilities? And the way you look in this light? I’m going to need you to go home and give yourself self-affirmations whilst looking in the mirror,” Felix scoffed at the other, turning the phone around. “You better make each second count, surely that can’t be the pose in this lighting.” With a soft chuckle, he shook his head. “You do know by giving me your phone, you’ve given me the power to take photos of whoever I want, right?”
Reese couldn’t help but chuckle as his friend spoke. “You are playing a dangerous game my friend. Keep hyping me up and I’ll become too powerful for you to handle.” He teased as he got into position for the pictures. “Power isn’t in the pose, dude. It’s in the smolder.” Reese did his best Flynn Rider impression then, shrugging off Felix’s next few words. “Hey, as long as I’m included I don’t care who photobombs.”

“I wouldn’t see why not,” they responded with no hesitation. It was something that made complete sense to her, but even being a pet mom herself, she’d never really thought about it. It was genius. “I mean, I would think loving and taking care of a fur baby is just as important as taking care of a human child.” She insisted. “Besides, I’m like ninety five percent sure if we were able to ask our pets, they’d most definitely agree that we’re amazing mothers. Well, except that one time I had to take Dixie’s favorite toy away ‘cause she somehow snuck into the cupboard, found a bag of her treats and tried to eat the whole bag.” She shook her head, letting out a sigh. “That is the day I realized I can never have more than one dog cause she would teach them that whole puppy dog eye trick and I would be a goner.”
“Right?” Moriah replied with a grin, thrilled that she didn’t look completely bonkers in the other’s eyes. “I like to think when my cat looks at me with her big ‘ol eyes and meows lovingly that she’s calling me momma.” The woman snickered as she made the admission, laughter picking up as the other told their tale. “Oh no! That’s too cute.” She practically squealed. “I’ve never had a dog before but their cute little eyes make me weak. I’m sure I would unintentionally spoil mine if I had one.”
ambxitious:
“Eh, I mean, if I have the money I’m willing to pay to get in, it can be expensive to set stuff up, pay for music, all sorts of stuff.” Ben shrugs, deciding not to mention the legal fees certain types of parties tended to end up dealing with, she found admitting to being involved in crimes was generally a bad idea, “Though yeah, lively, loud music, dancing, just… something you can get all into.”
“I suppose you have a point there.” Teresa replied with a lift of her shoulders. She wasn’t sure what kind of parties the other was into but she could tell they were largely different from what she was used to. “I’m still getting club vibes from you--which isn't a bad thing of course.” She said with a smile. “But this play is supposed to be fairly lively so perhaps there is a chance you will enjoy it.”

[ Somewhere along the high street || 12:37pm ]
It was nice, to be a little inconspicuous for a change. In the immediate blow-up of the band, Dayo had put up with something worse than the usual swarm of fans - an angry swarm of fans, who demanded to know why he broke them up. As if being treated like dirt for years by them, and much more importantly his management, was his call to begin with. Huntsville was a quiet town, and nobody expected them to be there, which would hopefully give them time to process the shitstorm.
That was, so long as their face wasn’t plastered all over the place.
It was a magazine stand of all things that gave it away, with their face plastered on the front of some teen issue branding him the destroyer of worlds and boy bands, or whatever. Their face creased with discomfort and, after flipping off the picture of their own face, Dayo began flipping each magazine over. The back cover was a lot less incriminating, and the process was weirdly cathartic, until they spotted somebody watching. Mid-flip, Dayo froze, catching the eye of a stranger off to the side. “I, uh…” they blinked, slowly setting the magazine down back-to-front, as if that would make them invisible, “this isn’t what it looks like?”
{ @bcrnstories }
Moriah had been in the middle of a power walk when she came to a stop at the magazine stand. Now, magazines weren't exactly up her alley. No, that wasn't what had caught her attention. Instead, it was the stranger with an unreadable expression, flipping over an edition of magazines one by one.
The woman couldn't quite put her finger on what was actually happening or why until she noticed that the face on the cover exactly matched that of the person turning them over. “Oh, umm...” Moriah trailed off as her mind continued to process what was happening. Are they a celebrity of some sort? She asked herself. “Maybe placing a different magazine in front of that section will save you some time?”

location: jae’s home
Since he’d been back in Huntsville, Jae had been keeping a low profile…or as low a profile as he was able to keep. After running into a friend at the grocery store, he’d decided it was about time that he reach out to those he hadn’t seen in awhile. He’d invited a small group of them over, a promise of a game night and good food and drinks and all had seemed to be well.
As he flitted between the rooms of his home, getting everything ready for the evening, he began to get the texts. One of the couples couldn’t make it, their babysitter had cancelled on them. Another was feeling under the weather. The third got tickets to a game they just couldn’t pass up. Which left Jae…and Moriah.
He felt a little flushed beneath his collar as he thought of it just being the two of them. He placed one of the games he’d gathered up down on his table, settling down in one of the chairs, listening intently for the sound of a knock or the chime of his phone and trying to not feel quite so…nervous now.
@bcrnstories
Moriah exhaled a deep breath she hadn’t previously realized she was holding as she knocked on Jae’s front door. It had been quite some time since she caught up with the other--or anyone for that matter. The woman as somewhat of a workaholic, rarely taking the time off to just live her own life. Nevertheless, something made her accept Jae’s offer to meet up.
She was a bit nervous for some reason. Perhaps it was the fact that she hadn’t done anything non-work related in quite some time? Or maybe it was the fact that the two of them would be alone? Typically when that was the case one would call it a date. But that wasn't what was happening here. Right? After a beat, Moriah gently knocked once more. “Jae?” She called. “It’s me, Moriah...”

“Okay, here me out.” Reese began, clasping his hands together dramatically before continuing. “Say for whatever reason a movie was made about your life. Who would you pick to portray you?” He asked. “Personally, I would opt to just play myself because let’s face it, no one else could ever do all of this justice.”

After another restless night, Danna groggily stumbled out of their flat and straight to the nearest convenience store that morning. She wasn’t sure what the hell she wanted to purchase before their feet were mindlessly leading the way. Odds were they would probably pick up some more eye liner, candies, and any other meaningless item to spend their fresh paycheck. The comic aficionado dragged their feet through a random aisle, failing to notice the person in front of them into their bodies met. “Shit--sorry.”

“Alright, why don’t we go over everything again on more time--from the top.” Teresa began, looking at the reflection of herself on her cellphone screen. Her gaze then drifted to Silas, with a testing smile. “Where did we meet?” She asked. “And what’s the story behind it?” Everything had to be prefect if they were going to make this believable.

“Okay, but, in all seriousness.” Moriah began, holding her hands up as if the conversation was truly dire before continuing. “If I’m a single cat mom, does that mean I also get to celebrate Mother’s Day? Because I sure think it entails it. Plus, I definitely think I deserve a shirt that has ‘worlds greatest cat mom’ written on it.”

“Kids really do say the darnedest things.” Moriah began with a soft smile as she recollected her day at work. “For instance, when I was out greeting some of the students as they arrived, one of them ran up to me with intrigue and asked when the world stopped being in black and white and changed to color.” She stifled a laugh then, curls bouncing as she shook her head. “I didn’t have the heart to tell him that’s not how it works, so I replied with 1960.”
