FINAL SUBMISSION!

After spending the past few days highlighting all my final pieces in a document for submission, I have submitted! Even though my blog is more in-depth, this document just picks out the key sections I have worked on through out each project of major study.Now time to prepare for Viva’s on Tuesday. 

Over my three years at hear at BCU, I have learnt so much words cannot describe. My work has evolved massively in this time and I now pursuing a career that I never thought I would even this time last year! This year by far has been the most challenging, with this module in particular as I have been juggling my own personal work and industry contacts for when I leave. I don’t want to leave university as such now as I have made some amazing friends with fellow students and staff but it’s time to move on and see what the future has in store for me!

University, you have been a rollercoaster of emotions but you’ve been fabulous.

Hosted by Maria Dean to help with her zine, we all was creating letter forms out out paper. It was great fun and I tried not to use any equipment to cut out the forms.

N I C E EMAILS- ARRANGING A TIME

As I have been emailing NICE to get in touch with them to say when to visit again and to show my teaser that I have made quickly. I will be also saying I can help them out with the campaign and filming but won’t be able to due to potentially having jobs lined up, I will be unable to do the both when this will be unpaid. However, I don’t want to stop completely working with them completely so to talk with them face to face will be better and come to an arrangement hopefully!

CV

From the advice, I have picked up over the past week or so reading article I have updated my CV. I have designed a simple a CV with little complication taking on the advice and just highlighting the information employers would want to know about me.

ASTON VILLA KIDS APP MOCKUPS 

As I have I will be creating a detail prototype mockup for Design Festival App, I will be creating flat mockups for this project to show the variation and highlight the interfaces of my designs.

BIRMINGHAM DESIGN FESTIVAL CREATING THE PROTOTYPE

As I now have all my interfaces complete, I will be creating the prototype mockup for the app. However, I normally create my prototypes in Invision but the programme not being to create the effects I wanted, I will be combining the Adobe XD and After Effects to create the prototype.

BIRMINGHAM DESIGN FESTIVAL LEADER

For the upcoming design festival happening Birmingham, I been put forward to be a leader when volunteering. So, I will be helping more with directing the guests and speakers etc on the days and be a point of call for people to ask for help. I will know more information after the induction evening on Tuesday 29thMay.

CREATING MY PORTFOLIO

As my colour palette is a turquoise blue with a slate grey, I will be creating a print portfolio firstly to show at the graduation shows and other events before directing them to my online presence.

BUSINESS CARDS

I have business cards! I have created two versions of the same designs just altering the colours to keep in with my colour palette and hand out over the next events over upcoming weeks. This is very exciting/nerve-racking to have my own business cards but I am very pleased how they have turned out.

After collecting my footage on the weekend, I have started editing together the clips. The short video advertisement will tell a story of the day and having the support of one another is key. It will also be accompanied with upbeat/happy music to send positive vibes to viewing video.

TIPS FOR CV

As I am preparing to leave university, I have been reading more articles on how to present myself to industry. I find reading articles more digestible and contain more current information in what I am looking for. The best article I found for what to put on my CV is from the UXdesign website linked in the post. This has a list of DO’s and don’ts for junior UX designs entering the industry which is prefect for me!

FILMING NICE

For my teaser of NICE I used the opportunity of a day out with my family to show how happy life can be and that life carries on with the support. The video is just a simple cut and compilations of the day and it’s purposely not going to be amazing, it’s just to show the feeling of NICE/the campaign.

CREATING BOARDS FOR THE GRAD SHOW FIRST DRAFT

For my boards for graduation show, I have chosen for my A1 board my Birmingham Design Festival App project and for my smaller A2 board, my D&AD submission, JcDecaux. I have chosen these boards as I feel they show my digital skills the best.
