What’s the hardest thing about being a gym leader 😌? Is it the fans/attention, the stress, having less time to do other things, etc etc?
also hey mod 👋 look at this wolf.it looks really dumb and stupid and that’s why I love it
Everything you listed certainly applies.
Nobody my age should have fans, Something I have unfortunately through this account. The positive experiences out way the negative, of course, but it's still very overwhelming at times.
I'm lucky enough to have the usual gym leader work schedule halved thanks to having to rotate with Alister, so my workload isn't as much as my older co-workers, but it is quite a lot. When we're out of season I have plenty of time to train and spend time with my family and Pokémon, but during the gym challenge finding the time to live is certainly a source of stress.
But to be honest, I'd say the hardest part is seeing how it affects everyone else in my life. My Pokémon experiencing stress and pain just like me, if not more after a battle is admittedly hard to watch, especially towards the end of the season. Meeting challengers who have worked themselves ragged to reach my gym, My family worrying over me, and hearing my fellow gym leaders shared struggles too.
It's been a little easier after what happened with the Ex Chairman, but even that in itself was a horrible experience for everyone.
I'm lucky to have such a wonderful job, but I'll admit it comes with it's struggles. I'm sure they'll make me stronger in the long run!
