I look for rare and never before seen Pokémon that I recorded in my diary as a kid.

So far, all my leads say they’re either extinct, only attested in folklore or mere fabrications of my mind.

But I know what I saw.

I know they’re still out there.

And I’m going to find them.

�ゥ or D4 that I'm going to be looking after! In spite of the fact that most D4 tend to be rather large, and in spite of the fact that it's actually at an extremely high level, this particular D4 is rather small for its species. For that reason I've decided to nickname this one Tiny!

This is also because without a nickname, saying it's full name delays my speech by about three seconds every time I say it. It's... kind of a noticeable amount of Lag.

A few of my lab mates were poking fun at me for desynching today. So! Tiny it is!

Anyway so far I've spent some time getting him acclimated to the house. He's a bit skittish, spent quite a lot of time sniffing my bed, and Æther's bed, but he seems to have relaxed now.

What's a Shinto?

you dont know what a shinto is? oh.. maybe they go by a different name here, then.

theyre really strange little ones. completely yellow, tiny, plush-like, they feel like fabric. covered in stitches. where i grew up, there were plenty of legends of them being tricksters. nobody really knew what to classify them as, what with their actual typing being unknown. they were thought to be 'uncatchable' pokemon too for as long as records dated back, but didn't seem very extraordinary otherwise. just little nuisances, especially for townsfolk in Chromitown. you couldn't catch them, couldn't drive them off because they'd always come right back, and i remember there being this whole controversy on whether or not they were even pokemon.

well- i disproved that whole 'cant catch them' obviously, but... im going off on a rant. here she is:

Hello! I'm a Pokemon Professor who studies rare and unique Pokemon and Pokemon variations! I'm curious about these mystery Pokemon you mentioned in your pinned post- I'm based in Unova so I doubt I've seen anything similar if they're a regional thing, but I'm curious all the same, how much do you have to go on? Just appearances? ( @malus-pokemon-research )

Unfortunately I do not have any hard evidence, just my own eye witness accounts and doodles I made when I was a child.

My family traveled a lot for work back then and I’ve found them all over. It seems I just have a weird knack for finding elusive Pokémon. It also seems like I also have this weird knack for remembering them, as any other person I witnessed one of these pokemon with seems to have forgotten about it. It is really weird.

The only things that seem to back up what I saw are folktales and sightings on cryptid forums.

It’s like these Pokémon were erased from reality, but they still left some residue behind… that or these Pokémon are just very elusive and people don’t care enough about them to remember or go find them.

The strangest one I remember is also the last one I saw. It was big, shaped like a liepard or pyroar, it had a big mustache and large wings, and six legs. As I approached it, it shined brightly, so brightly the light began to break down into its components. And then… it disappeared.

Oh, QUITE a few things! Quite a few pokemon have histories of being the resurrections of deceased humans. Phantump for example! They’re said to be the souls of children who passed while lost in the forest who then possessed a tree stump!

Naturally, most phantump are ACTUALLY hatched as pokemon the usual way, but if you ever encounter one that seems to emote just a bit too child-like and feels a good bit warmer to the touch than a typical tree…

Anyway! I was just speaking to someone about the faceless woman who grieves outside Saffron City on many fine evenings, and I’m currently doing a writeup on the boy who succumbed to the ocean while catching a chain of the same pokemon over and over! If you visit his fishing spot at the right time, his handprints will appear and begin to approach you.

Oh! And I’m ALSO planning a trip to Unova! I would like to study the dream mist from the Dreamyard, and there are some peculiar reports about creatures that look like stantler but aren’t.

There’s quite a bit to find here! I’m never bored and never idle!

Hmm… They look very buggish. I assume you’re positive they weren’t simply some dottler hiding in the shade or you wouldn’t be asking about them. Very curious!

Do you remember where you saw them? What structures were nearby? Was it near a grave or anything of historical or emotional significance?

It was on 102 in Hoenn, so nothing special really. It just had rained and there were a couple of them hovering above the puddles. It's just a weird bug that no one seems to believe exists.

Nope, just chilling. I saw them with a friend, but he says he doesn’t remember seeing anything of the sort. I have gone back and have never seen them or anything similar again. Just surskits and lotads. It’s almost like they were just erased from existance.
