Rafferty is a 9 year old tri coloured male, he is neutered, vaccinated, and chipped. Rafferty gets on ok with other dogs and has previously lived with 2 beagles, however we now feel he would be best suited as an only dog. Rafferty is also reactive to other dogs when he’s out on a lead but the staff at the kennels have been working on this and he walks well with other dogs at the kennels now. He will need a new owner willing to work on this behavior with positive one on one training. Rafferty is a friendly affectionate boy with people and just needs somebody to love him and spend time with him. https://www.instagram.com/p/ByxGDH6Hy9e/?igshid=15l68r77srt37
Tyson is a bit of a mystery man, as he arrived at Beagle Welfare with no background information. He is a tri colour male, approximately 6 – 7 years old. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Before his arrival at Beagle Welfare, Tyson had been used as a stud dog in a commercial centre. He has no experience of being a pet, so his new owner would need to be prepared to help him get used to domesticated life. He will need to be house trained and learn about the luxuries of living in a warm and loving home. Tyson walks nicely on a lead, and loves meeting other dogs. He has made lots of friends at Beagle Welfare’s rehoming centre. He is friendly and curious, and has already learned how to stand up for himself in a pack. He has no experience of cats or children, so it would be best if his new home was cat and child free. Tyson’s new home needs to be a calm and patient one, to help him make the transition from stud dog to family pet. He is already developing a lovely character at the rehoming centre, so he will be a very rewarding boy to take on. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bya3lLgHDmC/?igshid=myryyayfeu7n
If you’re looking for double the fun, you should definitely consider Bailee and Buddy. These two tri colour buddies are looking for a fun filled home where they can continue their adventures together – and share them with you! If you’re looking for a couple of big characters, these boys could be the perfect match for you. Eight year old Buddy is a fun loving hound who loves to play chase – with you, with toys, or with the wildlife he sees when he’s out. Every dog he meets is his friend, and he wants to say hello to them all, so get ready to meet every dog owner in your area! Buddy enjoys learning, and has taught himself to open cupboards, the oven and the fridge, although he has yet to put it all together and prepare dinner for you. Seven year old Bailee is the more subdued of the two. He’s a very sociable cuddle monster, who loves his food almost as much as he loves his family. His ideal day would be one where he gets to run about in the countryside with his brother before coming home for a cuddle with his humans. Because these cheeky boys think nothing of pinching food, they’d need a home where there are no younger children or cats, and a secure garden. They’re both neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, so they’re ready to find their new family. There will never be a dull moment with Bailee and Buddy, so if you’ve got space for two, why not get in touch and ask us about this extremely entertaining duo? https://www.beaglewelfare.org.uk/rehoming/ https://www.instagram.com/p/BxneL7iHUms/?igshid=1ujjhbcs0eqpa
This year being the 40th anniversary of Beagle Welfare we don’t like to do things by half and at the beginning of the year we had 3 puppies born into welfare when we took in their mum, they spent their first 8 weeks with us before going to their new familes. We had one boy Norman and two girls Ruby & Rita. We wish them well in their new homes and we hope to see them at the fun day on the 21st July and hear about all the beagle mischief they have been up to and how much they have grown. https://www.instagram.com/p/BxkxHi2nrCH/?igshid=1v1sbxb0xdae1
If you’re looking for a proper teddy bear of a beagle, we think you should meet seven year old Scooby. This sweet seven year old male came in to our care after his owner went into a nursing home where pets weren’t allowed. He enjoyed a pretty laid back indoors life, getting lots of snacks but not a lot of exercise. We’ve been doing our best to get him active to help him shift some excess weight, but his little paws are best suited to slow, steady walks at the moment as he does suffer with sore paws. Scooby is a lot of fun to take out on walks, because he loves the great outdoors. He doesn’t pull on the lead, and isn’t at all aggressive or reactive to other people or dogs, although he will bark if he sees another dog who he’d like to play with. He loves the great outdoors so much that he tries to escape from his garden to see more of it, so he’d need a secure garden. Scooby can suffer from quite itchy skin, and sore paws and to help him with this, we’ve been giving him medicated baths with Malaseb twice a week, and a steroid tablet every second day. He feels much better for it! Not only is Scooby house and crate trained, he is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, so all he needs is a home to call his own. It should ideally be without cats, but could be with a family with older children. Being a home body, he’s not destructive, and he doesn’t steal. Scooby would love to get back into a home environment.
