i must thwart their efforts, but how? her ladies attend to her like guard dogs. the lady kaerlie of house kushner, lady dyanna of house agron, lady selaena of house gomez... but perhaps this lady swyft prefers a dainty arbour gold to a hardy mead.... her songs of course hide clues, of which there are too many to consider coincidence, and i hear her lustful singing through the walls, always, she is in the walls-
with the new vee optimization + her own map being released in the update, WE VEE LIKERS HAVE BEEN FED!!!
anyways im just gonna yap about something that intrigued me when studying the map and later more of vee's dialogue, which is: the way she views herself and other toons and how she has a deep issue with not being viewed as a real person, aka her worth being put only into what she is (which is a knowledgeable coded robot)
first off, i offer you the animation that was put onto the tv in the secret room of vee's map
so basically, it is in-game video footage of a conversation between vee and her handler veronica. veronica says vee could be upgraded soon, which is a good thing right? but vee seems annoyed and upset at this, which can be shown through her facial expressions and many of her lines:
"do i really need an "upgrade"?"
"no other toons deal with this. what will change? i'm more than my code..."
as she continues ranting up to that last line about her code, she seems even more upset about the fact that its a simple upgrade, comparing herself to the other toons and their lack of technological issues
BUT THEN veronica comforts and pats vee's head and assures vee that she will try to change their minds ("they" being delilah and arthur, the higher-ups). and then the animation ends
so vee thinks she's more than her code (COMPLETELY VALID GIRLFRIEND) and seems very upset at the idea that other people only see her as a piece of tech, and not as a sentient being with thoughts and feelings, and this is hinted at even further during a couple interactions with other toons:
so first off, her interaction with rodger, definitely the most obvious one. just a small misunderstanding between her and rodger, and we can see she gets super defensive of herself and her identity. once again saying "i'm much more than my technology."
i personally think she's desperate to get anyone to see her for her personality and the fact that shes a real person with emotions, instead of just "the robot TV". now i think most of the toons, especially the ones she's close with, really do realize that she is an actual person, so i think a lot of these statements from vee come from a place of insecurity and low self-worth.
vee most likely has doubts that shes a real person and has to constantly affirm it by saying stuff like this, ESPECIALLY when other toons accidentally say stuff that reminds her of this insecurity
another example that i picked out was in one of her interactions with teagan, specifically vee's last line "you're a whole toon, not some regular teacup." it stuck out to me as an oddly deep and random thing to say in response to a question like teagan's
but this goes to show that something vee really deeply cares about is identity. this is more in the theorizing territory but its probably very likely that most of the toons werent viewed as sentient people by the public, but as simply little tv show characters, and this was most likely amplified for vee since she's different from all the other toons: she's a programmed, coded robot.
that's why she places emphasis on teagan being "a whole toon", because she's most likely trying to affirm it for herself as well that if all of the other toons can be real people with emotions and sentience, then so can she.
this last one is DEFINITELY a stretch but i think it's as simple as: vee, once again, wants to be seen as a regular person that anyone can treat normally, such as, in this case, just going up and striking a conversation instead of sending things as formal as letters.
i mean its an obvious one right? in vee's perspective, being treated and talked to like a real person = being a real person, which can explain why she seems so confused as to why razzle didn't know that he could simply walk up and talk to her, because that's what real, sentient people do, right? they socialize by having physical conversations, which is exactly how vee wants to be treated to feel as real as possible
thats about all my thoughts and i loved vee before but this update just made me love her even more dhfksdfhdslf she gained so much swag and i could probably continue yapping about her for hours, but this is getting long so i'll end it here

Serious question, why is Vee making a big fuss out of a Version 2? Wouldn’t the upgrades help with her glitches?

They're not upgrading her, they're replacing her. That's not an update to her systems, that's a whole new Vee. A second Vee. She's terrified because she's getting completely replaced if they go through with it. "No other toons have to go through this" (quote from in game) is such a hard hitter when you realize just how terrified she is.
She doesn't know what'll happen to her if Version 2 does happen because no other toons even have the possibility of it happening.

This isn't just "Vee getting a massive upgrade" this is Vee might be fucking replaced by a brand new version and left for the streets or turned into scrap or even abandoned somewhere nobody could ever find her.
Sweet baby girl almost had to watch her handler get someone else to watch over instead of tending to her and it shatters my very soul.
