Angst Starters

Despite how death seemed to saturate everyday life in Skyrim, it never quite lost its weight. Farkas knelt next to the burnt out husk of a building. He touched a charred piece of wood, still warm, and dragged his fingers over the blackened edge. 

“You couldn’t. That happens. It might happen again. But not always.” He stood and took Mya’s face in his hand, making a claw-shaped mark in black soot on her face. “The people who did this won’t live to hurt anyone else. The last sight they see will be the ashes of the innocent lives they ended. Let’s go hunting, Sister.”

cyrodiil is a cosmopolitan empire so ur imperial ocs can be whatever ethnicity you want. & having different ethnicities of humans have different innate abilities is skeevy & interpreting them as skills gained from growing up in different cultures is honestly way more fun imo. imperials are good at talking because it’s what people in cyrodiil value. nords are resistant to cold because they’re used to it and don’t mind it that much. redguards are resistant to poison because they eat food with a lot of spices that are technically mildly poisonous so they’ve built up immunity. bretons are a little different because they’re part elf and have some actual biological differences that are more than cosmetic.

I’m gonna be honest I started this post because I wanted to make an excuse as to why I’m not gonna change my OC’s name in his TES verse but it kind of got away from me.

The game didn’t give Farkas any character development so I’m gonna do that. Farkas has to reclaim his curiosity. He’s gotta learn to step up to leadership roles even when Vilkas or Kodak isn’t directing him. And in general he’s gotta learn to identify himself as an individual with his own thoughts and opinions.

A quick headcanon:

Farkas & his brother were born on the 3rd of Hearthfire. This means they were born under the sign of The Lady... and on a much feared holiday that celebrates necromancy.

Farkas gives excellent hugs. He’s warm and gentle and he always lets the other person be the first to let go so they get as much hug as they need.

Farkas, meeting a god: this is cool and all but I have a question. when you draw a picture in the dirt and then erase it where does the picture go

Farkas doesn’t sleep enough. He finds it hard to quiet himself down long enough to fall asleep, so he often just stays awake until he’s too tired to keep his eyes open. On top of that Farkas is a little overly vigilant. He’s not sure if it’s the wolf blood or the work he does or the fear of losing more family, but Farkas prefers to remain alert for danger rather than rest.

They had heard of the Companions of them of course, but they weren’t really sure what they were. “W-w-what are the C-C-Compainons?”

Farkas stopped halfway up the stair to allow the kid (Boe. A good name.) to catch up to him. “The Companions are as old as Whiterun. Older. We’re honorable warriors who fight so other people don’t have to. Kodlak or my brother Vilkas can tell you more if you want to know. I’m not too good at history stuff.”

In lieu of doing the usual Sunday stuff, some romantic headcanons.

Farkas is not easily embarrassed and tends to just say what’s on his mind if it seems relevant to the situation. He often gives compliments as if he’s stating an absolute fact because in his eyes that’s exactly what he’s doing.

He’s not the sort to make a big event out of a confession. He probably wouldn’t think to mention that he has feelings about someone unless they brought it up, at which point he would just say it without any fanfare.

Farkas takes rejection pretty well and is perfectly fine being friends with an ex. Unfortunately he’s also pretty easy to manipulate and jerk around.

Farkas wants to get married someday. He wants to have a big family with lots of kids and maybe a few dogs. He doesn’t particularly care if the children are his by blood or not. If he had his way he’d have already adopted Lucia anyway.

Farkas generally doesn’t like being touched by people he doesn’t know well or doesn’t like, but once you get within, like, level 3 friendship you get into the Hug Zone. Romantic partners get the Ultimate Hug Zone, which includes all you can hug access and forehead smooches.

While he’s Definitely a cuddler Farkas isn’t too into kissing. He’s fine with doing it to make a partner happy but he doesn’t really get the appeal.

Farkas’s “love language” is definitely touch. Any sort of physical contact, big or small, means a lot to him.

He doesn’t have a strict “type”, but Farkas often finds himself interested in the sort of people who exude confidence and live dangerous lives. He likes being around people that make the wolf-y part of his brain happy.
