The world of Pokémon.. An innocent, inviting place, perfect to lay back and relax, or to have the adventure of your dreams. That is, for humans. For PokéHumans, and Pokémon, on the other hand... It was nothing short of an existence of running, trying not to get stuck in a PokéBall for someone else's dreams, and pleading to make it through another day. And the ones who can't? Well... We don't talk about those.

Silence. Then, the noise of glass shattering, followed by a loud thud. The short man pried himself off of the ground quickly before taking flight, seemingly about to fall into hysterics. Not too far behind, another man jumped out of the window, looking rather angry.
"You won't catch me like that, you know!"
He wove through streets and alleyways until he had a moment's rest, grinning to foxself. In a second, there was a fox where they'd previously been, and not a moment too soon. After a few fruitless seconds of searching the man gave up, turning around and walking out. Hellion returned to its normal form, cackling to himself. Another successful day of looting and tricking others.

Fighter slammed his hand down on the wooden table in front of him, cracking it in half and sending wooden splinters everywhere.
"Now... Tell me again what ya just said."
The grunt took a measured step back, gaze shifting from their boss' brass knuckle adorned hands to bomb's face, which was shifted into something that resembled a smile, if it weren't so forced. All in all, the bombhead looked absolutely livid.
"He, uh... Got away, sir."
"Fuckin' useless. If ya want something right, do it yaself, then. Idiots..."
What happened next was quick, in the blink of an eye. In a second, the grunt went from standing there to having their head tightly grasped within Fighter's hand, the other not hesitating to crush it in their palm. The bombhead grunted, shaking the bits of brain and skull off their hands.

A fluffy, dishevelled man looked out from his hiding spot in a random alleyway, hands clenched tightly. Was he safe? They'd heard footsteps moving away, but ice knew that it could be a ruse. Some tense, silent minutes passed before Flurry let out a sigh, carefully stepping out to the street.
"Still safe. It's... it's alright."
Hopefully blizzard would get the chance to find something to eat before having to run again.

River please- child why are you texting Thunder.
>DAD'S FUCKING TINY NOW
>WE DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT HE'S SMALLER THAN ME NOW
>AND HE'S CHASING ME AADNEJNCF-
Thunder looked away from the document that he was skimming over as soon as he heard the notification from his phone, picking it up and reading it. Oh. The PokéHuman couldn't help but laugh, before typing in their response.
>I'm assuming you're at the office? Because this is something I have to see
As usual the door is unlocked. Gale wasn’t much for locking it anyway. But he is… well obviously not in plain sight he’s having a gay panic and trying to hide.
C'mon Gale's a bit smarter than that. Though his phone is perched in sight in there. Seems if Thunder had decided to text him again he wouldn't want it going off.
Persistent.
Well there's still the bed, the bathroom, and the... balcony.
Thunder chuckled when they noticed the phone, a small smile forming on cloud's face. Smart. Well, the bathroom seemed like a good bet, but he wanted to check all of the room before going anywhere else, lest Gale take that as a chance to run away to another place in the house. So, they closed the closet, leaning down and looking under the bed.
He made sure to close both the closet door and the door into the room, just in case. So, either the bathroom or the balcony then. It'd be easier to check the bathroom first, all things considered. So, the PokéHuman made his way to the bathroom door, testy=ing to see if the door was locked.
Cam awkwardly shuffles through his wallet, counting how much money she had. Great... good...
"You think this is enough to buy lunch and some extra supplies, Moonlight?"
The eevee nods, smiling. Cam chuckles softly, looking up and simply pausing for a moment.
"I should probably call Lila.... huh?" Moonlight facepalms slightly, nodding.
Apollo walked out of a nearby store, absentmindedly putting the items it just bought into her backpack. They patted Joltik's head gently as she did, before looking up. Huh, that guy was as tall as them. That wasn't something that usually happened. Wait shit that's a Pokémon that's a Pokémon trainer they were about to fight weren't they. Well. At least he bought potions.
Damn. She was not expecting to make direct eye contact with anoyone today. Lucky to his size normally it wasn't that hard but finding someone that is the EXACT SAME HEIGHT AS YOU- it's kinda rare. When you're short at least. Moonlight awkwardly chuckles.
"Uh.... hi?" Smooth start. Yeah they glance at Moonlight, raising an eyebrow as if to say 'you wanna fight em?'. Moonlight nods. If they were going to battle she'd prefer to do it.
Well. Definitely about to have a Pokémon battle then, shit. Apollo put his hand in their pocket, pulling out a familiar PokéBall. The only one she had, since the rest were caught with heal balls.
"Looks like you're up, Tox. Have fun-"
With a flash of light, Toxtricity appeared, looking at Moonlight and Cam, then at Apollo, and then back to the two. Ah. Alright.
Well, that was a bit harder than he'd thought it'd be, but she and its friends managed to pull through. The contest winner pulled out some max revives from her bag, using some for punkself.
Cam lets out some soft laughter. That was…. H a r d. The trainer wasn’t used to such a loss but they weren’t throwing a fit or anything. Currently he’s patching up Mudsdale and s-sir???? How are you moving it’s limbs with hardly any effort? It’s still out cold….
She looks up.
“Huh? Oh yeah I-I do. Haha. Sorry bout all this I- wasn’t expecting to meet anyone I could make direct eye contact with.”
Blue stands up momentarily to pull out their wallet.
“Uh how much do I owe you for the battle?”
This was gonna cut into his lunch but eh. They’ve gone days without eating before.
Apollo blinked, processing that for a few seconds. Huh. Maybe a PokéHuman? Blue didn't look it, but in all fairness, neither did she. Punk was brought out of their thoughts by the other's words, shaking his head.
"Eh, whatever you can spare, really."
Magma was golden with money, given how many contests it'd won recently. Besides, he did overhear that conversation, which left her earlier questions answered. Too public of a place to tell the other that, though.
"Wanna go get lunch together? You seem like a pretty nice person."
And then Apollo could covertly buy blue a meal. Punk patted the small Joltik in their hair, watching the little creature scurry about.
Well he wasn't too positive of what he had expected. Nervously laughing as the wild Onyx chases him out the cave.
"HAHAHAHHA HEY HEY 'M SORRY C'MON EEK-"
Well that was close. The Onyx stops following once the other was out the cave and back onto the road. Lemon heaves a sigh.
"I need to remember what not to do in caves...."
Well. He was not expecting for a person to walk out quite yet. Oops. Apollo looked at the other from their spot... Of playing uno with her friends. Toxtricity looked up from its cards, noticing Lemon as well.
"Eh from Pokemon yeah. I don't.... talk to others much. I was a solo kinda guy for most of my early thousands. And still try to keep close to as little due to entitled pricks n the like. But it's whatever."
Houndoom and Arcanine nuzzle them gently, who in turn laughs.
"Jeez guys 'm ok."
Ya know best not to think about how he's handled.... death of a loved one if he's immortal.
She understood that, from how much they moved around. Better not to get attached to the temporary, and even though they couldn't comprehend it in the magnitude that the other meant, punk could relate, somewhat.
"No, I get it. Kinda hard to get attached to things when you know you're going to outlive them, or end up leaving them behind in some way."
Cam awkwardly shuffles through his wallet, counting how much money she had. Great... good...

Tox nodded, patting Apollo’s shoulder affectionately. Obstagoon, who’d chosen to be quiet throughout the entire conversation, simply nodded along, smiling.
“Ah I get that.... battling isn’t for everyone and most make it out to be a sport...” Houndoom simply leans against Lemon.
“But it’s nice to see that perspective is changing... little by little. Man I am so glad you did not see the older times... wasn’t pretty I can say the from experience.” He shudders.

As usual the door is unlocked. Gale wasn’t much for locking it anyway. But he is… well obviously not in plain sight he’s having a gay panic and trying to hide.
Another contest won, and he was exhausted. Apollo stumbled outside of the halland into a random alleyway, leaning against the wall.
"Fuck. Never going to get used to so many people..."
As if sensing their unpleasantness, Toxtricity came out of its pokeball, leaning again the other.
"Mm... Thanks, Tox."
He'd been so focused on himself, that'd they'd missed the other creature in the alleyway. Until now, that was.
"Ah- Sorry, didn't see you there... We're not intruding, right?"
[ @beat-all-the-rest ]
Upon seeing Apollo, Prototype's first reaction was fear, which only got worse upon the other actually noticing him. But when he realised Apollo was also not a human, he relaxed, shaking his head. "No no, you're not i-intruding. I j-just wasn't e-expecting to s-see someone e-else so suddenly." It was comforting, really. To know that not everyone was out to get him. Because some days, it really felt like they were.
Prototype couldn't help but smile right now. The other just felt so... safe to be around. It was such a good feeling. Walking alongside someone who genuinely meant no harm, someone who just understood... He never realised he needed it so badly until now.
Soon enough, they'd arrived at the edge of the city, a small camp set up a bit further away from the route. It guaranteed that nosy trainers would keep to themselves, since there was no tall grass around, while still being comfortable enough to society if need be.
"Well, there it is. You can take my sleeping bag if you want."
Prototype looked around as they got closer to the route. He preferred to stay in the city, as there were many more nooks and crannies to hide in. Also, trainers were far less likely to throw pokéballs at anything that moved, when those things had a higher chance of just being a regular human. At Apollo's suggestion, he bluescreened for a moment. He uh. forgot what that was for a hot second. Once he remembered, though, he shook his head. "N-no no, I'll be fine."
"Are you sure? I can just sleep on Tox, he's pretty comfortable when it comes down to it."
Besides, he generally cuddled her friends to sleep. A good old cuddle pile, which was... Well, certainly easier to do when people didn't recognize you on the streets, as well as no one asking why the fuck it had its entire party out at once.
"Yeah, I'm- I'm sure." His tail curled around himself. Maybe it was self-soothing. Maybe it was instinct. It was hard to say, really. ...Did Prototype always just have that anxious energy about him? even when he was content, an air of nervousness seemed to hover around him.
They nodded understandingly, before tossing out her entire 'party', gently patting Joltik's head, before sitting down near the tent. She wasn't particularly sleepy yet, so chances are it'd take the opportunity to play some games with his friends before really trying to sleep. Obstagoon sat down next to them, smiling.
