A trip to Starbucks turns into....
I’ve been studying for my bio test all weekend. My bf had been helping me study and we were both hella tired. I needed a little pickup So I decided to go to Starbucks. After ordering my drink (which was a venti iced caramel macchiato with coconut milk)
my bf says “that sounds good... I’ll get the same”. I looked up beside me where he was standing and gave him a look like “really”. I was surprised because my bf doesn’t like drinking coffee, he says it’s because every time he does it makes him feel jittery and it makes his heart race. But today he bought one. He looks at me and says “I shouldn’t be drinking this but I need to stay up tonight”....
later that night (after study hall) we were chillin in bed watching movies. He was laying with this left hand behind his head and the other on his chest. I didn’t think nothing of it, I just thought he was laying comfortably. I rolled over to my side to check something on my phone when he says “bae” I reply “yeah” he says “come here”. So I roll over to his side and he looks at me and says “feel my heart” he looks concerned so I place my left hand on his chest. He moves it around to the place he feels I would feel it better. I feel it beating and it’s beating fast. I say “wow” and he says "that’s why I don’t drink coffee". Being the curious person I am, I place my head on his chest to listen and when I tell you it was beautiful (lmao) hearing it go was on another level. His heart was fast and irregular af. It would beat normal then sped up then slow down sped up and skip. With every skip you can hear how hard his heart was thumping. I told him how amazing his heart sounded and how I wish he could hear it for himself. I decided to do something I never thought I would.
I grabbed his phone that was at the side of his nightstand and went to the memos app. I pulled up his shirt and placed the phone on his chest. He looked at me like I was crazy and I had to remember he doesn't know about my love for his heart but I was bold with it this day. I started recording and he was about to say something when I "shhhhed" him. I told him to relax. I started the recording over I placed the bottom of the phone on his tricuspid. With every beat you can see the phone bouncing in my hand. After I was done I played the recording out loud so he can hear. He asked me how I came up with the idea of recording it. Of course I couldn’t tell him that I saw a heart vid on youtube. However I did tell him I saw it play out on one of those asmr videos lol.
(The only thing I wished is that I had recorded it on my phone.)
But oh man This was a beautiful day.
