Girl Before A Mirror, 1932 by Pablo Picasso
I’m going to admit to something that I’d be too embarrassed to say to anyone I know offline (but for some reason am okay with announcing to the entirety of tumblr): I don’t get Picasso’s art.
I mean, I’ve been looking at it since I was like, five years old. I’ve read about it in books, I’ve seen it in museums, I’ve know about his life- the blue period, the rose period, the neo-cubism and etcetera… I feel like I KNOW it, but I just don’t GET it. What was he doing? What was he trying to say? What was the point?
Idk. Normally abstraction doesn’t confuse me like this, but he stumps me.
