Listening to everything that Beaux was saying she nodded her head a little. She was never one to cry, but she did have a sad expression on her face. It was hard to just stand back and let things happen to her brother. Things she couldn’t help with more, but she just wanted him to know she cared. “Thank you Beaux.” She spoke softly, her arms wrapping around his frame for a hug of comfort. “And the same goes to you as well. If you ever need someone I’m here for you. Always. I promise. You may be my brothers best friend, but you’re also mine.” After all the years they knew each other it was hard not to be good friends with Beaux, hard not to care greatly for him. After awhile of holding onto him, Riley pulled back nodding, “Yeah.. I thought I could help Elliot like I tried to with Raf, but things weren’t looking out so great when he was close to attacking..” She sighed, knowing she should sometimes mind her own business. “Aside from all that craziness, I’m pretty great. Loving my job as always because I get to sing, was very happy with the Christmas holiday, looking forward to what this year has to bring. Starting making a bucket list for this year actually! What about you? How’ve you been, excluding all of that.”
“You have absolutely nothing to thank me for.” Beaux smiled hugging her close when he felt her arms around him. “I know,” He nodded. The bond he had with Lockwood’s was really tight and he wouldn’t change those twins for anything in the world. “Elliot is a bit different, I’ll try to reason with him. I’ve seen him when the sisters messed with his head and it was pretty awful. But he’s really closed off so it’s hard for me to reach through and have him be honest with me.” The male confessed with a sigh, it felt good to be able to talk about these things with his friend as Riley always knew how to listen to him. He listened to her talking about her life with a smile on his face, nothing made him happier than seeing his friends happy as well. “When am I going to hear some of that great voice? What’s the one thing you want to do this year?” He asked curiously as he was not the one to have huge bucket lists. “Me? Just being busy at work after this siren sisters shit. Trying to deal with drama people have blown out of the proportions about Madeline’s parents and me, trying to help Elliot. Been a busy bee, I guess” He shrugged his shoulders. “I’m open to this year being a good one, I really hope it will. We all deserve some happiness in this town.”

Maddie raised an eyebrow over at Beaux. “If you want to talk to them then go ahead.” She grinned. “I mean, who knows maybe they’d want to hear it from you rather than from me.” Maddie smirked before shaking her head. “I never said that I wanted a relationship where everyone lives in this happy world where we agree with everything. There are things that are going to happen. It happens in every relationship and we just have to work through it.” She shrugged. “Especially all those school trips. Most of the time we would buddy up there. But I guess time changes people.” She blushed as he kissed her cheek before looking over and nodding at him. “Dr. Maxfield? Why are you talking to him? I talked to him a while ago and he basically told me that he would like to continue his experiments. I mean, if you want to continue to report for him, sure. But I have a feeling that he is bad news Beaux.”
“I’m not sure if that’s the best thing to do right now. People have taken all this to another level and I think maybe we all need to cool off and then try to talk. It’s not like I want to be in a war with them. I care too much about you to put you in the middle of this mess for too long.” Beaux smiled softly at his girlfriend, just the thought made him all giddy inside to have the right to call her that. “I guess I just worry with the siren sisters around that they’ll try to separate us one day” The male confessed cupping her cheek as he leaned in to place another kiss to her lips. “So that’s why you’d stay close to me? You wanted to feel me up, naughty girl” Beaux teased the brunette. “I don’t know, we just started talking and..” He trailed off wondering if he should tell her everything. “You know I’m not that into supernatural species, what if he could find a cure?” He asked. “For now I’ve stopped talking to him but I don’t know, I’m very confused.”

PJ shrugged, sniffling softly and quickly wiping away any tears that may have popped up around the corners of her eyes. “It’s not your fault, Beaux. The accident is always on my mind. Eoin…he is always on my mind. Nothing will ever make it easier, and I have a genetic trait that reminds me once a month that it’s all my fault.” Taking a deep breath, she nodded her agreement, surrendering to a new topic. One that she hoped would be a happy distraction. Much like always, her friend didn’t let her down. “Beaux, that’s incredible. I’m so happy for you too.”
“You will in time. You have to believe that. You know when you’re sad, I’m sad too” Beaux spoke softly wanting to comfort the girl more than anything but just like with Penelope, not a day goes by that he doesn’t remember his friend. “Yeah, she’s really a great girl. I have no idea how I got so lucky but yeah, she likes me so we’re happy together now.”

Elliot glanced at his brother when he sat down on his bed, but quickly diverted his gaze again. He couldn’t blame Beaux for wanting to check up on him ─ if the situations were reversed, Elliot would’ve been all over his siblings out of concern. “Yeah. They messed me up.” He said, scratching the back of his neck as he shifted positions slightly. He didn’t want to talk about it but at the same time, he didn’t want to leave his brother without some sort of explanation. Although Elliot wasn’t exactly a good person, he had never showed that side of himself to Beaux. “You shouldn’t have had to do that.” The hybrid mumbled, glancing at his brother again. “But thanks. I was going to ask someone to take care of it. Sorry.”
Beaux nodded his head carefully, noticing there was something strange between the brothers since it was the first time he saw a but if his older brother’s darker side. “How are you now?” He asked looking up at his brother. Shrugging his shoulders the younger male replayed the events of that night in his head. “I know and I hate to do it but you’re my brother. I’m not gonna gonna stand by and do nothing. You know I’m always gonna help you and be there for you. No matter what.” They may have not the family motto like the Mikaelsons but he certainly was there for his family unconditionally. “It’s not like you could’ve fought it. I’ve heard that it’s pretty nasty when the siren sisters control you.” He shrugged.
3 people you’d hook up with?
“Well we gotta play a game of “Who’s not my cousin?” first before we get to the good stuff. I’m gonna say Jagger, Nate, or Beaux. I’d consider Rafael as the next best thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know some of them are taken. No need to lecture me on that.”

Listening to his suggestion about the two of them being there, she thought it was a good idea, but also giving him a little time to come down from what had happened. She knew it was hard at times for Rafael to open up to her, because they were family, twins and even good friends, which just made it harder to share the deeper thoughts, “Yeah, I think that would be a good idea if we do. It might open his eyes more that we really care and love him.” She smiled softly. “I know Beaux.” She nodded her head at first looking to him, “I also don’t want to be our first conversation after awhile to be me breaking down and you comforting me, besides he’s your best friend too and I should support how you’re feeling about him as well.” She stating holding her finger up.
“Yeah, let’s give him some time to process the things he needs to process and then we can talk to him. Show him that after everything that happened, he still has us. He always will.” Beaux agreed with the girl he grew up with. Shaking his head, the male let Riley finish up her sentence before speaking up. “I don’t care. You’re my friend too and if you need to cry or vent about this to someone, you can. No matter if we haven’t talked in a while” He reassured her. Even though Beaux and Rafael were the best friends here, he considered Riley a good friend as well and hoped the feeling was mutual. “I’m okay, just very worried about him and Elliot because he’s been attacked by the sisters as well.” Beaux shrugged his shoulders, the drama with Madeline’s parents was also there but he didn’t want to dig into that more. “How have you been anyway? What’s been going on in your life?”

“Old soul,” she repeated, almost as though she were tasting the words, “I like it. And I’m not that short.” Her own laughter mixing with his, PJ wrapped her arms around him. Silence quickly took her, at the words ride or die. When she spoke, her voice was softer, almost distant. “I think it is, but maybe not the best one for us all things considered.” She meant, of course, the accident. It was a guilt she’d likely carry with her forever.
Beaux sighed realizing a bit too late how he described them. “I’m sorry, boo, I didn’t mind to remind you of that.” He apologized hugging her a bit tighter before leaning back. “I wish I could take some of the guilt you’re feeling so it’s easier for you” He spoke honestly looking into her eyes, his heart would sink every time he’d see her sad over what happened. “Enough with the heavy, today is not the day to be sad” He tried to lift her spirit. “Would you believe me if I told you Madeline and I are dating now?”

“Yes. I will talk to them. Just for you, but this is only so they don’t start hearing it from the sisters and we don’t have to worry about their yelling again.” She smiled softly before chuckling and shaking her head. “Why would all the drama change my mind? I have feelings for you, those don’t change because of events that happen. Unless you’re about to tell me that you are secretly an alien or something.” She shrugged and held on gently to Beaux’s hand not wanting to crush his hand. “I’m glad that I kissed you under the mistletoe as well.” She giggled as he kissed her nose. “Who would have thought after all these years.”
“Actually....” Beaux smiled softly starting off as if her was gonna admit something like it to her teasing the girl. Her questions made him shrug his shoulders. “Not your feelings but it seems like it would be a lot easier for you if you weren’t with me. That’s why I thought you might’ve changed your mind.” He licked his lips taking his drink in his hand to have a sip. “Yeah, I never expected that this would happen one day. You were always my buddy” The male chuckled leaning in to press a kiss to her cheek knowing that the conversation would have to be continued one day. “I wanted to talk to you about something... I’m not sure if I should do it.” Beaux said wanting to share it with someone. “Dr. Maxfield asked me to keep an eye on some supernatural species and report back to him. Do you think I should do it?”
do you think things with beaux are a bit forced? he pretty much didn’t like that you weren’t immediately siding with him and became unpleasant until you swayed his way. and does it not bother you that he doesn’t respect your parents or that he doesn’t care what they think?
Why do you care about my relationship with Beaux? I’m pretty sure that’s between me and him first of all. Yes, he may not like the fact that I tried to defend my parent’s side, but guess what? Everyone has their own opinion. Secondly, he does know what they think and want to know and I’m merely trying to find an in between these two things.

have you ever wished you were part of another family?
“Why would I ever wish to be a part of another family when I have the best family in the world? My moms, my brothers, my sisters, they all mean everything to me and I’m way too attached. I think I depend on them way too much to ever think about being without them. Of course I’ve wondered what other families do, their family traditions, how they interact behind closed doors but that’s out of curiosity, not longing. I’m happy because I have them and I don’t think I could ever wish for anything more or less.”

Maddie nodded her head in understanding. “We will work through my parents eventually and your mums as well. Maybe we could be first in telling them that we’re officially dating so they back off a little bit.” She shrugged with a small smile on her lips. Maddie couldn’t help the giggle that left her lips. “Hmm, I guess I could be your girlfriend as long as you’re my boyfriend as well?” She smirked. “I admitted my feelings for you under the mistletoe, I definitely have liked you more than a friend for a while now and I’d definitely be happy to be your girl.” Maddie grinned, kissing him once again.
“You can tell your parents then, I’m pretty positive they don’t wanna see me right now. Nor would I know what to even tell them” He shrugged his shoulders, He didn’t think it was necessary to let his moms know immediately but if Madeline was gonna inform her parents then he would most likely tell his moms as well. “Yeah but you could’ve change your mind since then. Especially with so much drama lately over a simple date” Beaux took her hand in his own, locking their fingers together as they continued to kiss. “I’m really really glad that you kissed me under that mistletoe” He smiled like a little kid as he kissed the tip of her nose.

Maddie obviously knew where he was coming from and didn’t want a fight between the two of them. “I know. It would be awkward and hard to explain to my parents that we tried and it didn’t work out. But that’s all they wanted to know and right now I don’t know what else to do to appease them and you.” She mumbled before smiling up at him. Maddie bit her lip trying to hold back the smile from erupting. “Your girl?” She raised an eyebrow at him. “I like spontaneous you as well.” Maddie nodded. “I know that. They haven’t convinced me of anything. I just tried to compromise with them.” She shrugged and quickly changed the topic. “You call me your girl. Does this mean we’re still exploring feelings?” She asked and leaned up to kiss him.
Only when Madeline reminded him what he had said, did the male realize he actually said it out loud. And even though they didn’t talk about it yet, the human knew that it was true, when it comes to him he was sure where he wanted to take their relationship to. “I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to work things out with your parents. And even though it should bother me - it doesn’t. You’re the only one I care to please” Beaux smiled softly at the girl, kissing her back almost immediately as he felt her lips against his own. “It means that I’m sure about how I feel. I like you, Maddie, way more than just a friend. And if it was up to me, I’d continue calling you my girl. My girlfriend.” He grinned widely. “But it is your choice too”

“Clearly you and I have very different definitions of who is cool in the world of Hollywood,” PJ said with a laugh, holding out a hand to him. His claims were true, for the most part. She couldn’t think of a single time he hadn’t been there for her. Especially those times that had mattered the most. “I trust you with my life, Beaux.”
“I think most people would agree with me, old soul” Beaux winked at the girl, loving the banter between them. They were like that from day one. “I do too, you’re my ride or die. Is that the saying?” The male chuckled wrapping his arms around the girl to give her a hug. “Did you get even shorter?” He teased.

Tucking her strands of hair behind her ear, Riley’s eyes looked downwards, avoiding eye contact with Beaux only cause she was worried she’d break down. Knowing that he nor anyone had ever seen it before. “He hasn’t told me much, but he’s really beating himself up. I know this is hitting him more now compared to when he first triggered his gene. He didn’t go to work today and when I got back home he was still on the couch.”
Beaux took a deep breath in, sad that his worries have been confirmed by his best friend’s sister. He wanted to help Rafael but just as much he wanted to be there for Riley. “Do you think we should try to talk with him together? Maybe if we were both there and showed him we don’t judge that he’d open up?” The male asked thinking about what Rafael had confessed to him not that long ago. “And Riley? You don’t have to put on a brave face in front of me, I’m here for you.”
