And more from being not in Amsterdam
Pictures from the second half of my time in Amsterdam
So I never wrapped this up...
My friend Lissa is traveling to Amsterdam at the end of this week, and asked me to write a list of places for her to go. I came on here to look at my memories and realized I never wrapped this up. To be fair, I was also keeping a journal for myself and I did wrap that up so... yeah.
Looking back on it, the 2 last months of my trip to Amsterdam were the best ones. I got so many things accomplished, spent so much time with friends, and traveled all over the place.
This account is being written 4 months after coming back to the states, so I’m just going to quickly jot down some of the best memories of my last month in Amsterdam.
I went to London for a second time
I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour
I saw In the Heights, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime
I met Matt for the first time after 4 years of friendship
I met up with Phoebe, Roshni, and Katie at various points
I traveled to Deflt and Den Haag with Sarah
I saw the Girl with the Pearl Earing
I tried Raw Herring
I watched Eurovision in Europe
My cousin Chana came to visit me
We went to Antwerp Belgium with my friend Alexa
I showed her around my city
I bought my UvA sweatshirt!
I went on adventures by myself in the city
I had to say goodbye to some of the best friends on Earth
I can’t even begin to summarize everything I did in that last month... but there’s an attempt at least. Damn... 4 months is a long time. I miss Amsterdam every day.

Well, it’s May. I go home at the end of this month. And, like usual, I have sucked at this whole blogging thing. I’ve been doing so much that when I get home at night all I want to do is curl up and relax, not think about writing.
But I want to continue this blog, at least so that in the future I can look back and show my friends and children and be like “look at how cool I was”. So, here we go.
Three weeks ago started what was probably the busiest couple weeks of my time here. It started with my friend Taina’s birthday party, and then getting my hair dyed teal and purple the next day. I then went to London for a long weekend with Nana and Grandpa and Johanna.
London with my family was pretty fun. We did a lot, but paced things out and made sure we had chill time. Friday morning, we went to Westminster Abbey, with the British museum in the afternoon and Beautiful, the Carole King Musical in the evening. I absolutely loved the British Museum, especially the Egypt section. Seeing mummies, like Cleopatra, was probably the coolest thing on earth. I also loved Beautiful. It was simply... well... beautiful. Saturday we went to the Natural History Museum in the morning, and then walked to Buckingham Palace, and from there walked back to the hotel. In the evening we got dinner at a nice restaurant. And then Sunday, Johanna and I went to Hyde Park, before we all went to the airport. I also got to bump into two NFTY friends while at the airport!
The following week was spent largely in nature. I went to several museums and walked around in several parks. That weekend was the first weekend I didn’t travel out of the Netherlands. Instead Friday I went to the Van Gogh Museum and then to the market with my friend Sarah, and Saturday I went to the Keukenhof gardens, the famous tulip gardens in Lisse, followed by going to a passover seder. Sunday was my first chill, hang out inside day, that i have had in a while.
Then came Kings Day Wednesday the 27th. After a couple really gross, rainy/cold/hailing days before hand, I was happy when the sun came out. I went to the park with Jess for a picnic, and then walked around with Mandi. That afternoon I went on the ISN boat party, which was underwhelming, but hey, I can say I went to a boat party on KingsDay.
Friday Sarah and I went to Cologne for a day trip, which was fun despite being cold. We went to the main cathedral and to a Roman history museum. We attempted to go on a boat tour, but as we were the only ones who bought tickets we got refunded. We wandered around Cologne and found a love locks bridge, where of course we took artsy photos. For dinner we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, which was good when we were there but terrible afterwards.
And then the rest of this past weekend I had my homestay weekend in Arnhem. Arnhem is where a major WWII battle took place, and so a lot of Saturday was going to points of the battle. Saturday evening my host mom and I watched “The Girl With a Pearl Earing”, which was really good. Sunday we went to a castle grounds, and a modern art museum before I went home.
It’s weird to think that I leave Europe in 24 days. I’m ready to go home... but at the same time I’m not ready.
And pictures from my time not in Amsterdam

Figured I should upload some photos of my trip so far. Here are pictures with my face in them.
