Here is my latest blog!
Welcome! I’ve just finished my very first video for my own Booktube channel. Please subscribe if that’s what you are into! I’ll be making more of an effort to keep this up to date now also.
Please share far and wide!
Starting to see some definition in my back wooooooo!
Why do vegans need more protein? “Although dietary recommendations are stated as protein requirements, the actual requirement is for amino acids.”(1) Plant protein sources tend to be low in one or ...
Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) is a popular supplement among athletes. BCAA is a mixture of three essential amino acids - leucine, isoleucine and valine - that cannot be produced in the human bo...
I had my fitness test at Primal Gym last Sunday and it went really well! I’m classed as strong and have a good starting point to build on apparently!
I still haven’t managed to get to the top of this, but I’m getting there!
New climbing shoes! I’ve been wearing Red Chilli’s but decided I wanted something more aggressive to help me climb harder stuff.
The breaking in has started and I managed about half an hour in them today!
Slightly shonky picture of my regula climbing gym. This is the Depot Climbing Centre. It’s 100% bouldering and such a great place to climb. Sometimes I wish it wasn’t so busy though as I get quite bad anxiety sometimes.
So pleased I found this mag with Dana Lin Bailey on the front!
I’m keeping up with my running as I’m really enjoying it. Starting off small and working my way up gradually is the key for me. I’m going to stay at 2k for a few weeks and try to get my time better then up to 3k and go from there.
I’m only doing it twice a week at the moment on top of all the other stuff I do, but it feels like enough at the moment.
// REASONS TO WORK OUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Is fitness all about six-packs, big biceps and booties? Sometimes I get really tired of how the fitness and being fit seems to be all about the looks, how the goal of your workouts has to be achieving a certain ideal (unattainable?) body. I want to say that’s not how it has to be; There’s much more to working out than getting a body that looks a specific way!
I work out:
Because I love challenging myself, physically and mentally
To feel powerful
To beat my personal best
To see the nature in another way
To get stronger
To carry all my groceries in one trip
To become more confident
To get that rush of endorphins
To be able to open the difficult jar on my own
To take care of my health
To release stress
Because my body will thank me for it when I get older
Because I want to be strong enough to be able to carry heavy stuff on my own
Because my workouts are something I can look forward to on a grey day
Because it helps me clear my mind and organize my thoughts
Because it helps my stay pain free
Because I feel weird when I shower and it’s not after a workout
Because of that good feeling you get afterwards
Because it’s part of who I am
Because it makes my brain sharper
Because it makes me happy
Because it makes me perform better at every other aspect of my life
Because it makes me realize how good my body is meant to feel
Because I love it
Because I can
For some of the reasons I had running in mind, others lifting, and some yoga or fourth type of exercise. I like to do different types of workouts, because they do different things for my body, all of which combined makes me feel the best.
Some of these might not apply to you, and that’s okay - we don’t always work out for the same reasons. If you work out to look a certain way, I have absolutely nothing against that, I just hope you’re being realistic about it. And I hope you don’t forget the feeling good part - and more importantly, don’t put other people down for working out for a different reason than you!
Your turn
Which of these reasons apply to you?
What is your (unrelated-to-physical-appearance) reasons to work out?
- Lots of love, Anne

So at the moment a reposted (stolen) version of this is making the rounds ( theathleticvegan thank you so much for making me aware of it). Please reblog this instead.
I work out to become strong and healthy, to feel confident and to get that amazing feeling afterwards. I feel like I’ve earned my rests when I’ve had a god workout!
Goals!

Love that I can do weights at my climbing gym!

Hey! I've been trying to be vegan for quite some time now, but can never seem to really stick to it. Like I'll go about a week without consuming animal products but then fall back into my habit of eating crap! It also doesn't help not having anyone close to me being supportive of it.. Any advice? Xx
Hello lovely anon, I’m sorry you aren’t getting any support at the moment. I found that even having 1 friend who is vegan can help massively. Are there any vegan meet ups or potlucks in your area you could go to? When you say you fall back into the habit of eating crap, could you just try and make sure that it is vegan even if it is junk whilst you get to grips with it? Try and be prepared and always have something on hand.
Also this post has sooooo much stuff on it to help. Maybe watch something that will remind you why you want to go vegan to help you stick to it?
