Piecing and quilting a lap blanket from start to finish. With most of the steps... The first is a drawing of the pattern I came up with for this quilt. Nothing too complicated, just 4 patches and 9 patches. Second picture: I think I had to fill my bobbin 3 times for this project, which isn't too bad. Third: Lining up seams is a bit of a pain to do, but the end product is soooo worth it. The OCD in me gets super happy when corners match up. Fourth: The next blanket I make for this season will get its blocks starched before assembly to give the top some stability. Fifth: I keep calling the blocks patches... oh well. Sixth: Sewing my columns together finally gives the quilt shape and I can see how big it's going to be. Seventh: I had originally planned for a 3 inch dark blue boarder, but I had enough fabric to make it 6. Eighth: I had to find a bigger table to layer and pin the back, batting, and quilt top together. Ninth: I didn't show sewing the binding onto the front of the quilt, folding it over the edges to the back, pinning the binding in place, and then putting in the basting stitches (that's the word I couldn't think of). #quilting #quiltingproject #fourpatch #ninepatch #quiltingismytherapy #quiltinginthesnow #winter2020projects #winter2020 #project #basicequipment #justmysewingmachine #justmyiron #wegotthisladiesandgentlemen (at Iowa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CIt9UkTlRsQ/?igshid=2otqgdim0sq7
