“ Our proposal sought to address the individual and collective desires of the inhabitants of the city, by engaging its children in observing and imagining it. Ten workshops were organised in local schools across Shenzhen, where 500 children participated in the making of 2000 clay houses. Repetitive clay blocks based on the proportions of bricks were manufactured by YoYo Workshop, a local pottery school, in three sizes. Using a series of modelling tools manufactured by DRDH, the children were invited to remake buildings they knew or to imagine new ones for their city.”
