Day 5 of Guided 365 Photography course. Today my task was, while shooting in auto and without a flash, to take a picture of a dark object in front of a light background or a light object in front of a dark background. Being an over-achieving driven first born, I did both. In the picture of the shoe the light was coming from the left and I feel that because of the additional light on that side of the photo that the heel of the shoe is better defined. The toe of the shoe is less so. I tried a white bowl against the black wall and I thought that the camera did a pretty decent job of finding the sweet spot. Too easy? So I used a dried hydrangea bloom for less contrast. I don’t know it it is the. Auto or the depth of field or my aging eyes but I do see that the stem is less defined than the petals #day5guided365 #novice #autoshooting https://www.instagram.com/p/BsWYwzkADRb/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=gv9o0fdq9iah
