Downsizing at the National Weather Service appears to be part of an effort by Republicans to privatize such agencies.

WASHINGTON (AP) — As commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick oversees the U.S. government’s vast efforts to monitor and predict the weather.

The billionaire also ran a financial firm, which he recently left in the control of his adult sons, that stands to benefit if President Donald Trump’s administration follows through on a decade-long Republican effort to privatize government weather forecasting.

Being someone tiny that was once a regular-sized person before getting shrunk must be the hardest thing in the world, lol. Imagine trying to maintain dignity and your reputation when your mind is just going “Oh wow, look how big everything is now! Can I touch that? Can I lay on that? Can I crawl into that?”

Being around normal-sized friends would be a special kind of hell too. You’re already so much smaller, and so easy to tease and play with like this, and you want to maintain SOME dignity damn it, but your mind is going full gremlin mode seeing your friends huge like this. “Oooh can I crawl in their pocket? Their lips must be SO soft at this size, lemme touch ‘em! Oh, I’ll crawl up their sleeve, that sounds fun! I wonder what it’s like to lay in their hair like this…”
