Money: Does it Have Value?
If you think about it 🤔 Money actually isn’t worth anything. Yes, it may buy you goods and services but, without the ability to use money for goods and services it really has no value. Originally I would like to think that money was used as a sort of IOU. I wanted your milk but didn’t have anything to trade, I could give you a token that you could use to get something that you wanted when I had it available. Maybe I would but my face or intitials on it, that way if you wanted to trade something with someone else you could use my token and the person would know who to get the stuff from. Seems like a pretty good system. Until it wasn’t. Turns out people could make more tokens than they could provide goods and services. That is what you call inflation. It wouldn’t matter if I had a million tokens!!! If I don’t have the goods and services to back those tokens up, they become less valuable. The more tokens that circulate the more valuable or higher the cost of the goods and services. So does money have value? No, it does not. When you are spending money, you are spending someone else’s debt. The only value money has, is the value that you attach to it. Detach yourself.
