Present from Mumma Traynor.
Got these baking goodies today #sprinkles #baking
A banana loaf I made a few weeks ago.
Up to issue 50 of the Cake Decorating magazine now. Need to get more storage!
Bit late, but these are the Easter cakes I made for work last week.
Hello!
Hi guys! I have to apologise for my complete lack of posts for the past couple of months! I have literally been all over the place. We moved in to our first home, I started a new job and I have been back and forth between Northampton (where I live) and Surrey (where my parents live) a lot lately as my sister is having a baby soon. I haven't been very well and I've been passing out a lot, at home and at work and so to be honest I haven't been in a baking mood and I just haven't had the time! I now feel like I need to get baking to cheer myself up a bit and I'm hoping to really get this blog flowing again! I'm sorry to have been such a lazy bugger with it! Lots of love, Bec xx
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas day yesterday! I certainly did as I got a KitchenAid Artisan Mixer. I just wanted to apologise for not making any posts for a while. I started a new job a few weeks ago and I have been absolutely exhausted. I will definitely start posting more!
The beautiful KitchenAid Artisan Mixer that I received as a Christmas present yesterday. I am so so happy with it.
The last package I received from the Cake Decorating magazine. It was such a fantastic load of magazines, including the Christmas Special! I loved all the tools etc that came with them all. The silicone bakeware is one of the free gifts that I got for subscribing!
The last 6 issues of the brilliant Disney Cakes & Sweets magazine. I'm loving all the moulds I'm getting with it, they're going to come in so handy when making chocolates and sugar paste decorations.
Disney Cake & Sweets - Festive Special. I just got this issue of the magazine today and I have to admit I've been left a little disappointed.
Don't get me wrong, it is great. However, I think at £10.99 it is very over priced. As you can see you do get a brilliant Christmas Tree mould and two sugarcraft moulds, which is fantastic. The magazine itself though is no bigger than the usual issues and this is what has left feeling so 'meh' about it. I do throughly enjoy this magazine and it has given me dozens of ideas to use but I was expecting a bit more from this Festive Special. I think though, as paying readers we deserve a bit more.
P.S Sorry about the poor photo quality.
My Mum is getting a new oven on Wednesday, can't wait to try it out with some baking.
Issue 9 of Disney Cakes & Sweets. These chocolate moulds are fantastic, I think they'll be brilliant for Easter to make presents for my niece and nephews.
The last package I got from The Cake Decorating magazine. This was such a lovely package to get as it had loads in it and I received it the day before my birthday so it was like getting a present! Getting 5 issues in one go was fantastic (one was a special edition) and it came with one of the free gifts you get for subscribing; the pink tool box. This has come in so handy for me so far, I've managed to fit in most of the tools, moulds etc that I have collected so far. Not sure how much more I'll be able to fit in though. I still love this magazine. Despite having read over 20 issues of it now, every new issue still seems exciting and is packed full of new ideas.
I've decided to apply for the next series of The Great British Bake Off. Now I've just got to fill out this monster of application form.
I bought this magazine a few weeks ago. It's 'Easy Cake Decorating' by Ruth Clemens (also known as The Pink Whisk on her blog, facebook etc.). She's a previous contestant of The Great British Bake Off. I got it in Lakeland and it was £5.99 which I thought was extremely expensive! It's an average size magazine but I thought it could have been a big bigger as it cost so much. It doesn't say anywhere in the magazine (that I can see) that it is a one off, I only know that it is as Ruth herself commented on my instagram picture of the magazine as I said in the caption that I did not know how frequently the magazine would be coming out. When I first looked through this magazine I thought it was fantastic. It has lots of step by step pictures and instructions on how to make great decorations quickly and easily. It also has great photos of equipment that you will need. However, after looking through it and thinking about it; I realised that there was much in this magazine that I didn't know how to do already. It's a lovely magazine but I think it's really over priced for what it is. Although saying that I would probably cave in and buy another if she was to bring anymore out. It was enjoyable to read through and is a really attractive magazine if you have a passion for baking like me.
