How to Grow Your Hair Long
Ahhh, long hair, it’s coveted and beautiful. So many girls ask how to grow your hair long. “Won’t your hair just grow on its own” Yes, your hair will grow on its own, but it does need a lot of TLC from its own to stay lovely. I know some women who have very long hair, bleached to the brim and they never even give it a trim. Their hair is crying out for help and can’t grow anymore because of the dead ends!
How to Grow Your Hair Long?
First things first, cut off any old dead ends. If you want to grow out your hair, you need to go all out and cut off anything that looks ragged by natural beauty tips. This means tell your hairdresser to go mad if they want to go mad! Dead ends can run up to 6 inches, so be prepared to lose some length to gain some length, if you haven’t had your hair cut in some time.
If your main to desire is to actually grow your hair out, don’t dye it. While dying isn’t as bad as bleaching for hair growth, it can get messy if you change your hair color often, and can also dry out the hair if your hair is not healthy. This is why I can never stick to growing my hair out. I love changing my hair color too much!
Once your hair reaches a long length, try going with a long layered cut. This goes for any hair type— it will add depth to thick hair and add volume to thin hair. However, in my experience, if your hair is quite fine and thin, long hair won’t work out too well for you. We’re stuck with short hair!
Try to avoid pulling your hair back in ponytails as much as possible. I know for some of you this is unavoidable as you may participate in sports, or have a job in which requires you to pull it back. Therefore, I offer you 2 alternatives. You could a.) Pull it back in a soft tie as opposed to a rubber band or metal tie or b.) Braid your hair. Which brings me to my next tip…?
When I last grew my hair out quite long I was given the tip that if I wore my hair in a braid at night it would help my hair grow faster. I thought this girl was pulling my leg. However, when I did this consecutively, my hair did, in fact, grow faster. Give it a shot!
Every two weeks give you an olive oil hair treatment. This will not only make your hair shine incredibly, but it will also help your hair grow with beauty expert. I like to pop some olive oil in, put a plastic bag over my head and sit and do some work or watch TV for a good hour or so before washing it out. Make sure you wash well or your hair will end up a big grease pile.
Continue to get regular end trims every 6-8 weeks. “But I’m growing my hair out; I don’t want to cut it!” Your hair will simply stop growing and need to be chopped off completely if you don’t cut off your dead ends. If you keep it trimmed, it will continue to grow fast!
Biotin or prenatal vitamins If you’re really stuck at odds and having trouble growing your hair nice, long and thick, buy some biotin. It’s quite cheap and does actually work quite well for hair and nail growth.
