Bad Dreams
AN: Okay I am definitely not a writer nor have I ever written a fanfiction lol. I've been a RE lover for the longest time and just finished the RE4 remake and am all up in my feels. It got me thinking about all the trauma that poor Leon was left with, so here you go, I hope y'all enjoy it. <3
“Leon?” you called out, barely awake. Still groggy, you rolled over to see what was causing the sudden disruption of your sleep. Leon was sitting straight up, rigid and cold. The moonlight peaking through the curtains illuminated his figure slightly, showing the sweat clinging to him. “Hey, hey, hey what’s going on?” you question softly sitting up to scoot closer to him. Slivers of light made his face glow softly, god he was beautiful, you thought. His brows were tightly scrunched before looking around as if he suddenly realized his surroundings. “I… I just..bad dream is all, baby, I’m sorry that I woke you up. You can go back to sleep, I’m fine I promise.” he said after catching his breath. “Do you wanna talk about it?” He still hadn’t made eye contact with you. “No it was nothing, I’ll be fine, just go back to sleep please.” “Leon-” “Y/N, please.” “No, it wasn’t nothing. We don’t have to talk about it but I can’t just go back to sleep knowing that you can’t. This is the fourth time in this week alone.” You said holding your ground. “I love you Leon and it kills me to see you like this. I know that I can’t make the nightmares go away, but you can’t just pretend like you’re fine when clearly you’re not. Your job is to be strong and solve unsolvable problems. You spend all your time righting other peoples’ wrongs, I get that, but right now you’re home. You don’t have to be Agent Kennedy here, you can be just Leon with me.” His gaze softened as he finally looked at you. He let out a shaky breath, a silent agreement to share his burdens for the time being. “Okay.” You shuffled out from underneath the covers and straddled him, wrapping your arms around his neck as you gently carded your fingers through his hair. His arms made their way around your waist, pulling you closer. Silent sobs racked through his body as you mumbled sweet nothings in his neck placing gentle kisses on his bare shoulder. The two of you sat like this for a while, just holding each other, whispering how much you loved him, that was all you could do. There were going to be nights when Leon couldn’t sleep, the horrors he witnessed haunting him every time he closed his eyes. And holding him was the only comfort you could offer him. He wasn’t a man of many words but the loving looks and soft touches always said enough. Leon would make it through the sleepless nights with you there to hold him.
