The staff at bedgear is always excited to get fit for a pillow. Recently, it was Rob, our copywriter’s turn for a personalized pillow fitting. Getting fit for a pillow at the bedgear offices is no different than being fit in a brick and mortar store. The process is conducted the same way, the only difference is that the pillow fitting takes place in our showroom, using multiple pillows to find the right fit.
Kaylie, bedgear’s strategic account specialist, took the time to conduct the pillow fitting with Rob, asking whether or not he was a back, stomach or side sleeper.
“I’m typically a side sleeper, but I do end up on my stomach, too,” Rob said.
“Do you get hot during the night?”
“A bit, yeah. I usually flip the pillow over quite a bit,” Rob said.
Kaylie then went over the different aspects of bedgear’s extensive offerings. Starting with an Aspire® pillow for side sleepers, Kaylie asked “How does that one feel?”
Rob, who was on his side, a pillow napkin between his head and the pillow itself, rolled around a bit, testing the thickness and comfort of the pillow, simulating his actual sleep position. He made a face.
“What’s with the face?” Kaylie asked, jokingly.
“I’m not sure about the feel,” Rob said.
Kaylie nodded, “So you prefer a more firm pillow? The feel, as in how the pillow surface feels or something else?”
“The surface, for sure,” Rob said.
Nodding, Kaylie then presented Rob with a BG-X pillow, which is one of the more popular products with bedgear’s ambassadors like Javier “Astroboy” Villegas and more.

Rob rested his head down. While super-comfortable, the BG-X just didn’t feel right. Rob shrugged.
Rob nodded. “Sorry to be a pain, I know, I’m being demanding!”

In the end, it was eye-opening for our copywriter to go through the pillow fitting process with an experienced professional like Kaylie. It was fascinating to hear the different descriptions of the pillows and to really feel the difference between the different fills and fabrics used in the construction.
