Okayyy something’s on my mind with tumblr (or overall) etiquette..

I know there’s nuanced things such as original art posting frequency (someones original art is way far down their blog and extremely old), and things such as there being horrid creators you want to only engage with their reblogs, someone engaging in only text posts but they’re not into art at all. But not talking about that at all with this poll 🤷

There’s genuinely such a hatred for women’s sexuality and self expression when that role isn’t ‘submissive’ or ‘vanilla’.

Literally all of the discourse I’ve seen and discussion around women’s sexuality is about them being the submissive partner. When the talk is about women taking the dominant role, you get a load of jackasses saying ‘omg what if the roles were reversed 😱😱😱’…

like that isn’t already happening… like people aren’t defending women’s right to be subs constantly, like people aren’t defending men for wanting to participate in dom roles. Like it isn’t fucking everywhere within media and treated as normal and natural. ‘Imagine it’ yeah, I don’t need to when that’s the reality.

The discussions and nuance we have flies out of the window when we talk about women changing the traditional expectations for some reason. You are engaging in misogyny, you are a talking piece for the manosphere, you are ignoring the very real issues women face that is engrained in literally every aspect of our world and has deep, historical roots. You are not being ‘woke’, you are being a fool. Absolute fool for suddenly denying the nuance and the reality women face and stripping people away of their own autonomy, rights, and fantasies. And this obviously goes beyond things like BDSM too.

‘Women fantasise about SA/ageplay as a coping mechanism!’ As do they use being a dominatrix as a coping mechanism. As do men use being in a sub role as a coping mechanism. Not like it’s just a coping mechanism; some people just find it hot and that’s in their every right. For people who ‘care about men’ you become sudden hypocrites by hating women so much you deny men’s own coping mechanisms and fantasies.
