Starting off, I see Gargoyles as a species that don’t think too hard about sexuality/identity (if at all) so this is more so how they would be labeled in human terms (also this is just how I see them and not a knock to how anyone else views them in terms of their sexuality and identities! Especially considering the fact I just see gargoyles as not giving a damn about it.. it is the gargoyle way)
I’ll try to give little mini descriptions on why I see them they way I see them since I want to yap lol
Broadway: Bisexual- I have went back and forth about it and I like to think he does find men attractive, but he does have a preference more toward women.
Lexington: Gay- I’ve not read the comics yet, but I’m pretty sure it was confirmed anyways! But I just look at that little guy and can’t see him being interested in women. Even in the episode where Angela is introduced to the clan and the guys are trying to woo her, I saw it more like a competition between Brooklyn and Broadway. If I could rewrite it I would have it where Lex doesn’t see why they find Angela so interesting and maybe that would draw Angela being more interested in being around Lexington (because he isn’t being weird and bothering her) causing Broadway and Brooklyn to be more jealous, Lex likes that he’s irritating them unintentionally.
Brooklyn: Pansexual/Trans- I really like the thought of Brooklyn trying to find love and not having a preference on who he finds it with, he finds all sorts of people interesting! With him struggling to find his place in the clan and himself in the series, I can see it as an allegory for being trans so that’s how I view him.
Hudson: Pansexual- I think Hudson would be interested in how humans label their sexualities, but I personally don’t think he would label himself as anything, he’s old fashioned and doesn’t see a reason to label himself as anything when he already knows himself. If I had to put a label on him, I like to think he is also pansexual and I like to think he lived a life of experimenting, he was a handsome gargoyle back in the day!
Angela: Demisexual/demiromantic- (I personally am not/have not experienced being on the ace spectrum, so if there’s maybe a better label to describe how I’m describing Angela and someone wants to chime in feel free to!) I don’t personally see Angela having sexual or romantic feelings for the most part, I think the Demi label fits her well because I can absolutely see her building a bond with someone (that someone being Broadway over time) where she does develop these feelings toward him. I can see why it would be so off putting to her when she first meets the trio and (if I could rewrite it) why she would be drawn to spending time with Lexington instead of wanting to get to know Broadway and Brooklyn, I could see her becoming friends with him long before the other two and it’s only when Broadway starts approaching her differently (understanding that she is not interested in him) and genuinely trying to become her friend that feelings start developing on her end over a long period of time!
Goliath: Straight- I really don’t see Goliath being attracted to men (unfortunate). I can see him being curious in the past, but ultimately I think he would be solely attracted to women. I can see the younger gargoyles being interested in the community and labels, he would be ferociously protective of them considering the human world is a hateful place that is already intolerant of gargoyles, he would be very guarded when it comes to them expressing themselves around others!
Demona: ???- Demona hates everyone I haven’t decided yet lol!
