I actually rather enjoy the arrival of the colder months because it means I get to make snuggly things like this lovely #tweed #sewingeden coat! Another fun upcycling project! I took the last bits of fabric that used to cover our van backseat and turned it into a skirt! Complete with embroidered pockets and waist details. I’ve been making jewellery again, so much fun!

Recycled brass, sterling silver and mussel shells.

I know it’s warm and sunny today, but it’s never too early to plan for cooler months (and in Devon, you never know what the weathers going to do) so I finally got round to using some of the long-time-stashed @trulyhooked hand-dyed yarn, along with some @malabrigoyarn for contrast. It’s sock yarn so it’s lightweight but enough to keep the chill off. I don’t know why, but these colours just make me super happy. The pattern is my own, a modified version of “the Mustard Jumper” but with a larger scoop neckline. The #freepattern is on my website.

Not bad for an afternoon playing with silver scraps! I don’t have any heat tools yet, so all I can do is cutting, filing and texturing. I’m obsessed, I could so do this every day. Is it okay to message you? I'm just getting into crochet and sewing and I dont know where to start

It’s ok! For crochet, the best place to go is You Tube. From there, decide what you would like to try making and then search for things like “easy crochet scarf” or “Easy crochet hat” etc. There are many videos which you can pause and rewind as many times as you like until you get the hang of it.

As for sewing, I’m just getting into that myself, and I found the “Tilly and the Buttons” patterns really helpful for a beginnner.

Last week, I finished blocking my travel project! This beauty came with us to #Japan and has stitches made on coaches, in airports, at 30,000ft in the air, in the calm sunshine of #Yoyogi Park among many other places (including the last few rows camping Cornwall). It keeps me occupied when we get tired from all the exploring and provides a nice keepsake for when we get home! #crochet #travel #travelproject #handmade

It’s super gloomy today but yesterday’s fun experiment is brightening things up. I wanted to try and design something that would be a versatile “light layer” as the #GilmoreGirls would say, and this was the result. Couldn’t resist adding a bit of #crochet edging too. In ever hopeful anticipation of some *actual* summer, I’ve been working on my summer handmade outfits. This pink cardi is my latest #crochet creation! I found a gorgeous remnant of fabric from #okadaya in #Japan and today I was brave enough to do something with it! I used my new skills to piece this skirt together and I’m super happy with the result!
