im glad it has at least one fan then! tbf i go back and forth on it, obvs it's got resonance with the seasonal nature of the story (both in terms of weather and seasons of life series) and the apricot metaphor and the idea of waiting for something that never comes, but the dactyl-trochee rhythm of the words feels so off to me for some reason lol

the hair conundrum. the mullet i want:

the length is like that because ive chopped off all tbe dead hair BUT. i just cant seem to make layers right. ive cut my hait like 5 times in the last 2 months

I only have a little experience with hair cutting but here’s my ideas.

1. This looks like texturing rather than layering. Layering softens volume in big hair, while texturing adds volume to thin hair

2. The angle that you cut hair affects how it lays a ~lot~. I recommend when you cut, pull the hair to length at the angle that follows the ~curve~ of the head, like this photo. This video also shows how to lay the front part, which is to angle the hair forward towards the face.

3. Try researching “point cutting” which is a common method for texturing. You can see they point cut in this photo bc the hair is “uneven” and not cut in a uniform line

4. Lastly, this kinda texture is tough to get without texturing products. I recommend a sea salt spray, but I’m sure a variety would work. Add a little at a time and fluff up the tips of your hair with your hand
