Fuuuuuuuck this one is bad. They’re basically just telling people to run. There’s reportedly a hotel on fire. A hospital is being evacuated. Wind gusts are to 100mph. At least one entire town has been evacuated. 911 is overwhelmed.

If you’re in Colorado, I highly recommend following @coeventslive on Twitter for up to date information about this fire, and in general about major disasters in Colorado. They do a good job of collating information from any other twitters such as local police and fire and such.

The videos from this are horrifying. There is no other word for it. Houses on fire, people being evacuated from a Costco into a solid wall of smoke and wind and debris (and that Costco is reportedly now on fire), flames just RACING.

Multiple hospitals now being evacuated. There are at least 3 different fires in the area, maybe more. More evacuations are being issued. The hotel that burned is considered a total loss, and likely many other buildings/homes are as well. People are driving the wrong way on highways to escape the fire.

Just talked to my dad who works in Fort Collins, and he got let off work early because his boss has a ton of family in the fire area and had to go help them evacuate.

Also, sorry for not putting a date on any of this. This is all relevant as of 12/30/21 at 4pm MST.

If you would like to keep up to date on what’s going on, here is an online scanner for Boulder County where you can listen in: https://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/591 But please only listen if you are okay with potentially hearing some rough stuff. There is a LOT going on, and a lot of it is not good. You will hear addresses of burning homes and businesses, you will hear about people that can’t be found, you will hear about injuries. But it is here if you want it.

There is apparently now a derailed train blocking one road out. No idea what caused it or how bad it actually is. But damn. Not sure if its a train train or a lightrail.

My aunt and uncle, who just bought a new house, are now under pre-evac. Another fire has started. Whole neighborhoods are gone.
