Okay okay, so I didn’t actually know how to start this blog, and so I thought that a little introduction about me would be a good place to kick things off!
If you knew me in real life, you’d probably think I’m some weird theatre kid, which…is partly true. I love all things to do with musical theatre and the performing arts industry and I’m currently working towards a career in it! I want to be a playwright in the future because it mixes my two favourite things, performing and writing!
Speaking of performing and writing, let’s move on to some other hobbies/interests of mine!! Honestly, they change all the time. I could go for months playing a certain video game, and then it’s not until the next five trillion years go by when I actually pick it up and play it again. But, things that I am currently interested in are, collecting Pokemon, cosplaying, Stardew Valley (tis the season), watching 2000s romcoms and playing the bass!
Now, I would usually stop there with the things that I like, but music exists. Ooooooh my gosh, without music, literally where would I be? In my next blog I’m going to make a custom playlist to give you a snippet of what I listen to! (If you have any music suggestions that you’d think I totally need to hear, pop it in the suggestions and I’ll give it a listen and report back!)
One thing that goes above all though, is God! I do go through dips when being disciplined in my faith, however, my love for God never changes and neither does His love for me! (And you! <3)
I’ve gone through everything I like, yet, I’ve not actually introduced myself. To keep things a bit more undercover, you can call me BB! I’ve made this blog in hopes to create a safe and judgement free space where both me and you can come too to just chill!
Besides all of that, I’d say I’m a pretty average teenage girl who just wants to spend her time romanticising her life. Hey…would you look at that! A perfect segue to move onto our next topic- Romanticise Life and Start Living!
Whilst this topic can be broad, there's two main things that I want to focus on: finding your thing and comparison. If you think about it, these two things can heavily link, and so you may find that my discussion points blend into each other!
Well, what does ‘romanticising your life’ actually mean? By a quick google search, ‘romanticising your life’ means shifting your mindset to enjoy the present and focus on appreciating the little things. Simple, right? Not so fast. I’ve often found it difficult to simply ‘focus on the present’, and whilst it might be really easy for some, it could be more of an after thought for others, including me.
I’ve repeatedly caught myself watching videos of people who seem to have their life figured out- they have a consistent morning routine, they never seem burnt out and everything just seems ‘perfect.’ If you have that, that's brilliant- props to you! But it’s also super duper important to remember that not everything you see online is true. There is always going to be a constant mental battle of comparing yourself to others, even if it's just a subconscious thought. If you’re like me, it’s very often that I get caught in a spiral of comparison and then when I do try and ‘get my life together’, I instantly feel heavy and burnt out.
One thing that I struggled to realise for a while is that, things like, forming a routine or stopping to appreciate the little things in life, can take time! Nothing just happens over night, and that’s okay!
Now, I’m in no way of being able to tell you exactly how to romanticise your life- we are all different! But, what I can do, is share with you some of the things that I’ve collected that help me!
If wanting to build routines, start by just adding one extra thing to your routine that you wish to get done. For example, once you’ve gotten ready for the day, you may want to clean your space afterwards and so you can add that into your routine. Then when you’re, you can start adding in one more task for you to do daily, until your routine is built! This helps create a routine that fits around you without the added pressure of having to do everything immediately!
There is absolutely no rush into doing anything and it’s especially important to keep in mind that you can always start again. There may be moments where you need a break, or things just don’t seem to be going well, and that’s normal! It’s okay to take time for yourself, and remember you’re doing great!
It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as you are happy and it’s not harming anyone or yourself, then rock it diva! Every routine, lifestyle and person is different, and I think it’s so cool that we have our own things. Our own hobbies, favourite songs or favourite book!! Romanticising your life isn’t just about having a routine, it’s about being YOU! Go have that bath and read your favourite book! Go learn that song on the keyboard that you’ve been wanting to learn for ages! Take time for yourself and do something that YOU love!
Okay! So… I suppose that’s my first blog entry finished! Before I go, I want to say that not everything I say fits for every person out there- these are things that help and inspire me! In no way do I intend to come across as judgemental or hurtful and I hope that if you do take anything away from these blogs, it’s that you are absolutely AWESOME and should be proud at where you are and how far you’ve come!
I am buzzing for the next blog, and I hope to see you there! If you have any topic suggestions please put it in the suggestion/question section and I will try and include it in my next post!
