Guys, what do we think William wants to talk to David about? Because like what I’m hoping is William brings up something about the security prison thing that Quinn is at.

This is not my story so I don’t want to push anything, but I was always hoping for some dramatic standoff between Quinn, the Solaires, the Shaw pack, and then Darlin’ in the frontlines because this is their fight to finish.

Instead we got “hey, so we caught him, did you guys wanna like verbally and physically bully him for 3 audios?”

After he got caught, I was always hoping for some sort of escape, but people have pointed out to me that the department put him in a holding cell that William put money towards or smth like that, so I’m like idk, unless that holding cell has a malfunction or smth, that guy’s not coming out (most likely idk, Erik could pull some strings and be like “Quinn had friends behind the scenes the entire time!!”)

Sweetheart fades in and out during a summer solstice. Their powers are out of control and don’t listen to them, so sometimes, without realising, they’ll become invisible for a few seconds before going back to normal.

Milo hates it. He knows just how much pride Sweetheart has in the masterful control they have of their stealth magic. He’s seen it first hand. He’s heard of the risky jobs they had to go through but carried out perfectly with their skill and finesse.

But here they were, fading in his arms. He can physically feel them still there, but every now and then it looks like he’s holding air.

The disappointment they have in themself shows on their face every time they return to normal, and it breaks his heart.

It’s hard to be confident in the abilities you spent years mastering to lose it all in one day. (Although they both know they’ll be back to normal tomorrow, it doesn’t undo the negative experience today.)

On these days Milo holds them as much as possible so that he can be there to keep them together if they fall apart. Quick trips to the kitchen are done hand in hand. Naps on the couch are done in each other’s arms. Every time Sweetheart fades, he calms them with his arms around their body, hands stroking their back as he reassures them that he’s here, that they’re still the amazing stealth they are, that what’s happening today doesn’t change anything about them, even if it doesn’t feel that way. Sweetheart seems full of confidence on the surface, but they’re much softer than many expect them to be on the inside.

Milo knows.

“I see you, baby.” He whispers in their ear as the waves came and went. “You’re okay. I see you.”

Ok look I’m not trying to stir but I feel like I just need to put this out here because this is a recurring issue that keeps coming up 🤦‍♀️ this is related to that one person but not directed at them. This is just directed towards basically anyone who has strong opinions.

Yes people are allowed to have opinions. However, Redacted Audio is a piece of media made by ONE PERSON and is being offered to you for free. Yeah Erik probably never sees the criticism that circulates tumblr but I still feel like it’s necessary to have some respect and common sense.

This isn’t some mass produced Netflix show with a whole writing team, this is one man with a life and a job. In a world of shitty ai media and slop movies, this is some of the only passion filled content we’re receiving isn’t designed to be perfect. And yes, sometimes the ‘passion’ it’s filled with is passion for a video game, not hours of deep lore. Get over it.

If your criticism towards Redacted is anything along the lines of it being “worse than before” or “badly written” (which even I myself have done and I will admit that it’s still wrong) then please at least think twice before posting and if you choose to post then word it in a relatively polite way. If you want to say that you’re dissatisfied in the new video, fine. If you want to say “god I hate everyone in this fandom and Erik is lazy and blah blah blah kys blah blah” then just delete your account.

I feel like this should just be the widely accepted way of looking at criticism in this fandom.

TLDR:The existence of opinions and criticism is not an excuse to be a dick to a small(ish) creator.

Actual Fact: There are more Redacted Audio episodes featuring werewolf characters playing Destiny 2 than there are episodes featuring them actually shifting into wolves. This is not an exaggeration. Imagine making all this lore and history supernatural characters just to have this random real-world videogame from 2017 have a bigger presence in a werewolf story than actual werewolf transformations.

I will never understand how people believe that Redacted is a good writer, ts is so bad.

Like I’d understand if you were criticising a hugely produced Netflix show for being lazily written but we all already know Redacted is just one guy having fun. if bro wants to make a video about a game he likes then he will lmao. This is a random ass man with a day job and a life, there are times where he’s not going to put his heart and soul into writing. That’s normal. Ofc there are a couple reasons someone might be annoyed (eg. Paying for patreon and unhappy with the content quality, but you’re clearly watching this on YouTube so that’s not you) and they are valid reasons to be unsatisfied BUT if you’re going to stick around, presumably watching his content for free, just to complain then do us all a favour and keep it to yourself.

Also I personally think that the recurring mention and gameplay through the Shaw Pack brings them more to life. Why would I watch something and get attached to the characters when they have no interests or hobbies whatsoever???

Also lastly just keep in mind that this is canonically set in the modern day giving the characters little reason to shift and, even if they had a reason, covert being mentioned repeatedly makes it very obvious why they wouldn’t want to anyway.

Idk if this is a whole lot of annoying yap but still brah there’s no reason to be a pessimist about something that is literally designed for some silly fun.

I mean I think this is the audio that made me give up on watching Redacted Audio, despite all the hype people gave me for it.

I don't get why so many people are telling me "if you don't like it then don't watch it" when I had to watch it to realize I didn't like it first. You get that right? Opinions on art ARE subjective, and that means that my criticism is just as valid as your praise. There's nothing wrong with watching something, not liking it, and then sharing your opinion on it. The people saying "don't like it, don't watch it" seem to think that people have some psychic ability to tell what they're going to like before they even watch it omg.

Honestly this makes sense but like.. if you’re separating yourself from this peice of media and youre no longer planning on interacting with it, why complain? I understand that yes, you do in fact need to try something to see if you enjoy it, that’s common sense. But if you realise that you don’t enjoy it that’s no reason to be honestly rude towards the creator and people who do enjoy it. Pick a side, either stay and be polite about your opinions, or leave and keep your opinions to yourself. They’re no longer useful to any of us clearly.

I don’t expect you to reply to this if u don’t care but still next time you choose to share opinions on a one person produced piece of media, make sure they’re not worded in a judgemental and literally (canonically) wrong way. We have enough drama in this fanbase and we’re all in agreement that sharing opinions is ok as long as it’s done in a respectful way.

With all the talk about Redacted changing and entering a new chapter (or ending all together) I’m starting to wonder if maybe Erik is going to kill off some of his characters off instead of neatly and wholesomely ending their playlists. Like it’s probably more likely that he’ll go for the happy ending for the characters he wants to retire but it would be hilariously dark if he just went and got rid of the character all together by Xaviering them.
