So excited to start reading Red Queen!!! Can't wait to do a review to let you guys know my thoughts! If you haven't already, read my review of Lux Consequences you won't regret it😊
Lux Consequences: Opal & Origin Book Review
Lux Consequences: Opal & Origin Book 3 & 4
Synopsis:
Opal
After Everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… and I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Origin
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back. After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together.
My Review: Opal (Book3)
First off let me start off by saying I was skeptical at first before reading this series. I never was interested in reading about Extraterrestrial beings. It just never sparked my interest, until a family member of mine recommended this book to me. I love science fiction novels and romance so I decided to give it a go, and I’m so glad that I did, because I was utterly blown away. I have read many books by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and this has to be one of my favorite series she has ever written! She never seems to disappoint, but this book went above all my expectations, which is rare. Lux Consequences contains two books in one, which is the third and fourth book in the Lux Series. Opal starts off with revealing how much Katy has changed since she has been through so much, but she’s not the only one who has changed drastically. Dawson who after a year of being kept hostage and forced to do horrific things by Daedalus (secret government organization), is finally back home and completely different. Dawson will do anything at all cost to get Beth back from Daedalus. Daemon, who just got his brother back, is not willing to lose Dawson all over again. Daemon and Kat knowing they can’t stop Dawson from going after Beth for long, so they strike a deal with him. Problem is that Beth is being kept under a heavily guarded cell in Mount Weather where no Lux or hybrid has ever successfully broken into. If that’s bad enough old enemies return to town, and working with them might be the only way they will have to reach Beth. No matter how dangerous or risky, nothing will stop them from protecting the ones they love.
For the life of me, I could not put this book down. Opal was a definite page-turner for me. I love that the book kept me intrigued all the way through. Some books can have parts where things get a little slow, and uneventful, but this book was far from that. Opal had just the right amount of action, drama, and romance all in one. We get to see how conflicted Kat is with the decisions she has made, and the consequences of those actions and what they will result in. Best of all we get to see more of Daemon and Kat’s relationship! I love how Daemon is so cocky and arrogant, but when it comes to Kat he’s sweet and protective of her. I love that even though Kat and Daemon are together, Kat still speaks her mind and doesn’t back down to Daemon. Kat’s everything I love about a protagonist, she’s independent and strong, and wants to be considered Daemons equal. I am so happy by the fact that Dawson is back! I loved Dawson’s character from the prequel so I was excited to read more about him, and to know what he has been through. This book definitely kept me on edge, for the fact I did not know what was going to happen. Overall Opal was a great book, and will end with you wanting more!
Origin (Book 4)
Considering the fact that I loved Opal so much I had high expectations for Origin, and I ended up loving it more than Opal, which I didn’t think was possible! Origin starts off with Daemon coming to the realization that Kat is gone, and being held by Daedalus. He’s doing everything to get back to her, no matter how crazy or rash it may seem. No matter what he has to go though he will do it all, he will do it for her.
My Thoughts:
This book was nothing short of amazing. This book had me going through so many emotions, and literally brought me to tears. I do not cry easily, but this book had me feeling for the characters like no other. I felt Daemons love for Kat, his urgency to save her, and his need to protect her from pain. I felt for Kat who usually so strong, become broken and helpless. This book showcases Kat and Daemons unbreakable love so beautifully. This book no exception to Opal had me on my toes as well. We get to learn more about what lengths Daedalus will go to protect human kind no matter how ugly. We find out that this whole thing may be bigger than Kat and Daemon. Grab a cup of coffee and some tissues, because this book will not only bring you to tears, but will have you staying up all night! Definitely recommend for those who like me love science fiction novels, and a good love story.
If only.. Lol book review coming today!!!
