unpopular opinion lol–but as a black wlw

i do feel that i’m starting to see soely and only, a lot of butch/masc wlw in relationship with femme/smaller white and light skinned wlw. there isn’t anything wrong with that, at all–and before people try to put that on me i need you to understand that i don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.

but i do think there is an issue of lighter skinned/white wlw who are femme/feminine always and ONLY seeking out or having specific types of preferences toward more masculine/dark skinned black wlw and only thinking that black wlw can exist that way. i mean, on one hand preference is preference, but on the other hand sometimes it’s annoying seeing light skinned/white femme wlw always talking about how their black butch/masc gfs are strong (sometimes scary), take care of them, protect them and make them feel safe. Or at least, implying that and having online personas in that way (like i can’t quite explain it, but it says a lot when you have the white / light skinned one looking cute and dainity while she is being carried by her strong black gf/wife on social media or her doing domestic stuff while her black gf/wife is working out)

similar to how a lot of white and light skinned women (either het or wlw) end up in relationships with black men and carry these ideas that black men exist to protect them and be larger/protective of them–and only looking for black men on those stereotyped aspects of them–i’m starting to see same gender wlw relationships with butch and masc black wlw the same way.

wherein, nonblack/light skinned and white femme wlw only seek out and see black wlw in one way. and that is as their protectors, larger, scary, and care-takers while they get to keep this persona that they are the small, innocent, dainty wife that gets to live a wlw fantasy with their big, gruff masc / butch black gf. but we don’t call it racist because it’s queer…but i mean, it is.

like i rarely see a femme/feminine/smaller darker skinned black wlw with a butch/masc light skinned, non black or white parter being taken care of. it is always the other way around and IDK, it’s just something people should be aware of. preference is okay, but i think understanding the root of your preference by the world around you is also important because some of y’all have racist biases that you don’t wanna admit.

don’t clown on this post. if you have an issue with it, i’m willing to hear it but please discuss it like an actual adult.

Like it’s just, it’s rare to see black wlw who are femme/feminine with butch/masc light skinned black women, non black women or light women. it’s rare to see femme black wlw with nonblack/white/lightskinned wlw at all regardless of if their femme/masc/butch or whatever.

and i think that’s because, this challenges these groups perspective on black wlw. the idea that black wlw can be feminine and protected by white / non black and light skinned wlw is really absurd to them so they tend to stay away from femme dark skinned black wlw–just my observation

I live in a state where you “have to” report anyone you suspect of being undocumented (that wonderful hellhole of Arizona). Now in practice this law has fallen far short, thank goodness. But if you live in such a place and they start enforcing it, here is how you get around it:

Assume everyone who doesn’t speak English is visiting.

Never ask about their job, because if they tell you they work here then you know they’re not visiting. You see them a lot for several weeks or months? Hm. Someone in the family must be ill. That’s terribly tough. They always dress in old, ratty laborers’ clothes? I feel you, my dude, I can’t afford new clothes either, and my dad has the fashion sense of an aardvark, so sometimes it’s not even about “affording” them. They say they’ve been here for years? You must have misunderstood. Spanish isn’t your first language, after all. First and last name? It never came up, or you don’t recall–you meet a lot of people.

And then, if you’re asked: no, you haven’t seen anyone residing illegally in the United States. Just people visiting.

Don’t do more than is expressly asked of you, and do what you are asked with such an intense attention to protocol that not asking you at all becomes more effective than even bothering.

In this case:

“Have you seen an illegal immigrant?”

“Could you describe an illegal immigrant, officer?”

*officer describes a person who is in the country without appropriate paperwork, or who has crossed the border illegally*

“No, sir, I haven’t seen any illegal immigrant.”

And this is correct. You have NOT seen an illegal immigrant, because you have no way of knowing if Jose Fulano is here legally or not. And since you can’t see his paperwork (or lack thereof), and did not personally see him cross the border illegally, you are only answering precisely the question asked.

So, I’m a lawyer, who deals with immigration though does not specialize in it. But here’s the thing(s):

1) Even someone who’s working could be here on a migrant (or other sort of) visa (hey, there are a few thousand per year, and *someone*’s got to get them, right?) or could be waiting for their case to resolve in immigration court, after having come to America to join a born or naturalized American family member.

2) Even people who are working improperly could have come into the country legally – and just overstayed their visa or be violating the conditions of their visa, and you have no idea what the niggly little regulations that govern that might be.

3) If a law enforcement officer asks you about a neighbor/friend/etc., take this moment to remind them that, unlike them, you cannot ask a random person off the street for their ID and be entitled to a response.

4) Even if someone has told you that they are undocumented, you still don’t know, do you? Humans lie all the time. How could you know for sure? You can’t, because they can’t prove that they have a lack of papers. Just because you haven’t seen papers doesn’t mean they don’t exist!

5) Don’t ever talk to cops in general. Why are you talking to a cop? Stop that, as soon as it is safe and feasible.

This is really quite a big deal. A tremendous amount of modern research ends up being sold to journals which require unreasonable payments to access it and only pay the original authors a pittance. It’s nice to see an agency like NASA deliberately widebanding its findings.

Explain (if you want) how you got your Tumblr @ (and maybe blog title if you want?) I’m interested to see what everyone’s villain original story is. I’ll start! No this isn’t me trying to indirectly ask my friends about their names shut up.

So normally my online name is ChocolateGhast, (literally my Minecraft gamertag from 2013), but I didn’t want my irl friends to find my blog, so I was going to use something else. The time of my blog’s creation was during my massive Fnaf phase, and my favorite voice line is, “IT’S TIME TO TAKE YOUR FINAL BOW”. (The animatronic literally screams it.) I originally took the full quote, but then just reduced it down to the last three words. You can find it here if you want lol, but loud noise tw. And my blog title is a Crowley quote, (“What’s in that bottle, delusion?”) except changed so it’s “blog” and “Destilusion” because Destilustionists is my favorite name for Destiel shippers.

My @ came from my discord @. When I was creating my account, I was at a complete loss as to what I should name myself and so I just looked around my immediate vicinity for objects. I had a small thing of blue playdoh next to me and that became my username. One of my names, Blue, came from the shortening of blueplaydoh. As for the blog title, its in reference to my favorite/ most used reaction image. It’s been a constant mood since… mid january. It’s also in reference to a server I created that later became the @wayward-writers project.

Note that this evolved from doing my best to figure out how to approximate Funranium Lab’s Black Blood of the Earth brew. I’d read the glowing reviews online, but being naturally cheap, couldn’t quite bring myself to drop the $$$.

And then my eyes wandered to my shelf of virgin labware equipment and I went “Hey…I bet I can just make my own.”

Based on Herr Direktor’s notes on the Funranium labs website, I tinkered and fooled about and eventually came up with my own brew that, if not Black Blood of the Earth, will punch you in the face and leave you smelling colors.

Let’s do this.
