Happy Birthday to my all time favorite Taylor Swift song. DEAR JOHN.
i appreciate that Taylor Swift knows the importance of knowing when the beat is going to drop
and because of that asks us if weâre ready for it before the beat drops in â...are you ready for it?â
i feel so bad that abigailâs wedding pics are going to be ruined by taylorâs black umbrella
photographer: can we maybe put the umbrella down?
taylor: how could u SAY that iâm EMO now itâs part of who i AM
Is anyone else crying to the lyric âAbigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mindâ?? After so many years of singing that line, it is really beautiful to know that Abigail is getting all of the love and happiness she deserves in life.
sobbing
Oh and Better man was written in 2011
So no, it wasnât written about Calvin. No one believed me but now I have proof from the copyright website! lol
This is mine from my side account, I just thought it was interesting to know because it was released more recently so everyone assumed it was new but itâs not! haha
it seems strange that she would wait 5 years to give this particular song away..also the lyrics are beyond anything else she wrote in that period in terms of maturity..so if this were true i feel like she rewrote at least some of the lyrics to fit her situation in 2016. consider me confused.
Date of creation doesn't mean much...it can mean back in 2011 she was thinking up of a concept of it/maybe came up with a few lines but then in 2016 she was able to better put it together/actually flush it out
It could also mean she had started to write the music to it but had no lyrics, she's said on 1989 in the bonus tracks that sometimes her songwriting process starts with the music and ends with the lyrics
Guys Iâm laughing so hard the media is pissed that Taylor is giving them no press and instead is spending all her time online with fans so theyâre making articles saying fans and the general public hate the new taylor like nah guys the new Taylor hates you
literally our posts that she likes are getting published in these articles since they canât find anything else to quote Taylor on. We boutta have our 15 minutes of fame y'all
@ media pls get my good side thx
Did anyone else notice how the squad taylor/cult leader didnât appear in the final bow at the end of the video
Cause she doesnât exist, just like bank robber Taylor, biker Taylor, car crash Taylor and bath tub Taylor. These are all personas that the media and narrow people have assigned to her. Taylor was never and will never be greedy. Cage Taylor is real because her life is indeed being lived in a gilded cage. Snake Taylor because she has embraced and taken back the narrative of one. Zombie Taylor is hypothetically real because she has been buried so many times by desperate people but she just continues to live anyway.
⊠Because hereâs the thing. âLook What You Made Me Doâ isnât about Kim, Kanye or Katy. Itâs about us. In the videoâs epilogue, an assembly line of different incarnations of Taylor Swifts stand in a line grumbling at one another. Thereâs the Old Taylor (RIP babes), who walks around in wide-eyed wonder at the world, stays up too late, goes on too many dates and really likes cats. Thereâs the doe-eyed country star. Thereâs the pratfalling ballet Taylor Shaking It Off at the peak of her popularity. They stand alongside Taylor 2.0, who has a pet snake, digs graves in the middle of the night and has, honestly, one of the best perms Iâve ever seen. As they snipe at each other to stop being so nice, stop pretending to be so surprised and to stop being such a victim, itâs a startling reminder that Swift, the actual human being, knows everything that you say about her on social media. The final, playful utterance of the famous line that she wrote about Kim and Kanye after Snapchat-gate may be tongue-in-cheek, but it also points to the fact that Swift has spent her life being placed into narratives, from the boy-obsessed cling-on to the mean girl squad leader. Showing her âselvesâ knocking each other down with familiar barbs holds up a mirror to an age where malice is delivered by proxy, where we can bombard a woman with snake emojis and forget that the internet isnât a vacuum but a tool for communication. Since Swiftâs inevitable fall from unsustainable levels of popularity, the discourse around her has reached a level of toxicity that is no less over the top. The videoâs epilogue is a reminder of the simple and yet constantly overlooked fact that if you send someone abuse online, it is delivered to them - famous or otherwise - instantly. But donât be mistaken into thinking âLook What You Made Me Doâ is a cry of victimhood. Would a woman who stood up to Apple to make them pay artists fairly and who fought a landmark case against a man who sexually assaulted her fall apart because of some malicious gossip? No. The most ironic thing is that the song plays a sleight of hand â itâs actually a declaration of agency. We didnât make her change and we didnât make her fail. Less than a week after the songâs release, sheâs broken three different streaming records; thatâs what we made Taylor do.
DID YOU GUYS REALIZE SOME OF TAYLORâS DANCERS FROM PAST TOURS ARE THE PAPARAZZI IN THE VIDEO!!!
ITâS MARK, GIUSEPPE, MASON, AND ROBERT!!!
Iâve heard a few people say the Tay character that crashes the Maserati and is at the end âgetting receiptsâ is throwing shade at a certain someone (we all know who and thatâs not the point)⊠I think itâs actually playing on the rumour that Taylor  does everything for attention. Like, the paparazzi are there at the crash because she called them, everything she does is for attention. None of the Taylor Swift characters in the video are meant to represent other people; they all represent the false or incomplete images people have of Swift herself.Â
YâALL⊠MET GALA TAYLOR WAS SMILING WHILE OUT OF THE WOODS TAYLOR WAS BURYING HER.Â
AT FIRST I WAS LIKE WHY THE FUCK YOU SMILING MET GALA TAYLOR?, OUT OF THE WOODS TAYLOR WAS BURYING YOU ALIVE.
THEN IT FUCKING HIT ME.
TAYLOR SAID THIS BACK IN 2015.
THIS IS SAD. :(
IâM VERY SHOOK OMG.
oh my gosh that she liked this makes it even worse
Remember when people said 1989 only did well because there was so much promotion for it so Taylor didnât do any promo for this album or the first single and then LWYMMD broke three records and went number one in almost every country twelve hours after release SHE REALLY DID THAT
Good.
also in a good chunk of the reaction videos people canât get over the production so SHOUT OUT TO JOSEPH KAHN, LEADER OF THE TAYLOR SWIFT DEFENSE SQUAD
Iâve been watching a lot of reaction videos to the video and what is really common in a lot of them is the silence/look of âOh whatâ on their faces during the last bit, when Taylor is saying everything that people say about her
and I think itâs because subconsciously itâs a huge slap in the face that Taylor Swift is a human being. Sheâs seen and heard everything people have said...possibly things the very people watching have once said or thought. And sheâs saying it out loud to herself.
And thatâs never something thatâs easy to watch but even more so when weâre talking about a person that people often forget is human with actual feelings and emotions.Â
I just really love that it seems like some of these people are realizing âthis person that I always gave shit to for not reacting the way I wanted her to, sheâs a unique individual. Sheâs a human being. I wouldnât want that to be me.â
