Went to the cinema Release Party for TLOAS yesterday and my thoughts in a random jumble are as follows: It was so nice to listen to the music loud and hear a little track by track… Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor and Ruin the Friendship gave me literal goosebumps and songs like Wishlist and Wood really benefit from being blasted loud. Some of the clean lyrics are possibly preferable or equally good as the originals (I felt this about Folklore too, also not Father Figure though).

The Life of Ophelia music video is incredible, one of her best if not her very best. It was so nice watching the artistry of putting that together. Like, watching all of it come together, you can see Taylor’s genius and the genius of others on her team. Great stuff.

Do wish the track by track descriptions were a bit longer and in depth re: production choices, etc. but I enjoyed them.

While an enjoyable time, I think this may have benefitted from a change of venue - a hall type situation rather than a cinema, somewhere you can stand and move and dance rather than being somewhat confined to a seat. That said, my session was 2pm of a Sunday so maybe vibes were a little different at different times. I do think if I were to do it I’d do like those dance party/Emo Nite situations

That said, a fun time, really enjoyed it.

P.S: I think, as is kind of typical, the tracks are kind of in the wrong order. I sort of see why they are where they are but I think the album would benefit from a shuffle.
