Finally updated Quiet's ref sheet with his new colors!

Quiet

No one is quite sure whether he is called Quiet because of how silent he is when he wants to be - or if it was just ironic. Regardless, Quiet is one of the louder members of the Oasis, never hesitating to insert his opinions, often where they aren’t wanted. Of haughty disposition, Quiet generally mocks and looks down on the other members of the Oasis, using his large size as an excuse to throw his weight around. When he isn’t making himself insufferable, he makes use of his superb climbing skills to keep watch on their little haven from possible mist-borne intruders. Despite his roll as lookout however, he has no intentions of fighting the creatures in the mist - once bitten, twice shy.

The chattier Quiet is, the more smug he is! The chattier Burner is, the more likely they are to yell at you about something.

I think one of my favorite expressions in this whole thing is the little shocked face Walker has in the bottom panel XD

Whoops! It's been a minute. To make a very long story short, I figured out I really didn't like the format of the comic [square pages] given some of the more action-y bits I see happening in the future, and finally after some soul searching decided I would switch format.

The page after this one is going to be standard page size [8.5 x 11]. Did that decision need to take 6 months? Probably not. But here we are.

Enter Quiet! He's another of the characters who's had a design change since I first made his ref sheet that I haven't corrected yet -- mostly to do with lightening his palette. I really, really like his color contrast to the rest of the group now. I wanted him to seem almost cougar-ish? As well as in the same color bracket as Legs, who is currently by herself in the lighter tone range.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

Ah, so that's what everyone was arguing about.

I love how tiny Walker is compared to everyone. Bite sized doggo. I don't think she's the shortest member of the cast, but she's among the three shortest. Walking in a world of giants, those guys.

Proudly announcing I have up to page 33 done! And also have been having a lot of fun working on pages again :) there will be a couple of changes to format soon [planned to start on page 34], so I do apologize for that, but I've been thinking over the current page structure, and while the square pages make action scenes a bit more flowy, they do really slow down exposition scenes, which are already pretty slow in comics, all things considered. So I'll be switching to a more normal page format, based on the 8" x 12" margin.

When the guy with resting serious face makes a joke, is it really a joke? Unrelated but I love Aegis's expressions. Her little teeths make everything that much cuter to me for some reason.

Aegis

One of the more positive members of the Oasis, Aegis hasn’t been quite so beat down by the mist as the rest of the pack - though many of the other members attribute it to her stronger memory of life before, which while not as extensive as Leg’s, have gifted her memory of at least her name. Aegis spends most of her time scavenging for food and resources to bring back for the others to use. Her second favorite past time is proving she can sneak up on Quiet.

We are slowly inching closer to meeting the full cast in context -- and this is the first look at Burner with their new design. I haven't gotten around to remaking his character sheet yet unfortunately. It's on the to-do list XD
