Intelligent life 100% exists in the Universe and I'll never change my mind. Trillions upon trillions of galaxies exist. Billions of solar systems exist in those galaxies. There has to be life on at least one planet in at least ONE of them. Let's put this in perspective, actually.
Suppose there's 500 septillion (500x10^24) planets in a certain part of space. Say only 0.0000001% of those planets had intelligent life. That's 500,000,000,000,000,000 planets that have intelligent life. Like. There HAS to be life, somewhere. You cannot tell me there are trillions of planets floating around without SOME form of life. (And dude imagine if, like, 20% of those planets had life....like...)
"Well why haven't we found the aliens yet??🥺" GOSH PROBABLY BECAUSE THE UNIVERSE IS SO FUCKING BIG????? That's like asking why we haven't found a speck of paprika in the ocean. WE ARE SO MINISCULE, LIVING INSIDE OF SOMETHING THAT IS SO LARGE WE DON'T EVEN REALLY FUCKING KNOW HOW LARGE IT IS. The chance of us finding intelligent life is already so incredibly low. It makes sense that we haven't found it, actually! We've dug two centimeters into the dirt, questioning why we haven't found anything yet. Of course we're not gonna find anything after exploring literally less than 0.0000000000000000001% of the Universe.
If you think about it, aliens could deliberately be avoiding us (perhaps finding us too primitive or dumb to communicate with)! Or, they could be unsure how to reach out to us. They could be scared to reach out, potentially believing us to be hostile. There could be aliens we don't have the senses to comprehend. Plus, if you think about it, the Universe is relatively young (about 14 billion years old). We're probably not the FIRST intelligent life, not by any means, but it's possible we could be among the first.
Also!!! If you viewed the Earth from 2000 light years away, you'd only see us in our Roman Empire stage (due to how light travels). Aliens may have found our planet, but they may see us in a stage where we don't "exist" yet (i.e., if they saw us in the Jurassic age), even though we currently exist. They would have no reason to contact us if they believed there was nothing important there.
Aliens literally have to exist. There was a water ocean planet (K2-18b) that had carbon dioxide/dimethyl sulfide in the atmosphere, potentially hinting towards some kind of life. That's just one planet. There are so any fucking more!!!!! And I would literally bet my life that at least ONE of them has intelligent life!!!!
TLDR: space is big and aliens exist 🤓☝️
