Failure Personified

Some nights

when she’s finally alone in her room,

lying on her bed,

staring at the ceiling,

she can’t help but think about her failures.

She thinks about how she fails at being a daughter.

How she fails at being a sister.

How she fails at being a student.

How she fails at being a friend.

How she fails at almost everything.

How she fails everyone.

Most of all, how she fails herself.

And she cries.
