Seeking the Proper Pour
Beer Advocate is always a good resource to read what’s trending in the industry. I renewed my subscription and was excited to hear they’re moving to quarterly publishing.
I digress. I like this post because I’m guilty of some of those shitty pours. Actually, all of them. Some on purpose, some by accident. Bad pours happen, makes me feel rather relieved it’s all meaningless.
I’ve read a lot of back and forth about foam (head). Some people say it’s aromatic and where so much flavor tends to settle and others say such is not the case. What do you think?
Fifteen places to kick back and quaff the freshest beer in town.
A few highlights from 2017. Life managing a brewpub in Brooklyn makes for the most incredible writing material. I’ve been given a lot for which to give thanks.
When we started BeerAdvocate magazine in 2006, we strongly believed that beer deserved a leading monthly print publication, and for over a decade we have delivered uncompromising beer advocacy and...
As 2017 draws to a close, we can say this: there is a lot of good beer out there. More than ever before, in fact, which makes narrowing down a list such as this all the more challenging.
Incredible! Opened it up to read the first beer listed is brewed by a place I’m lucky to part of now. Congrats to #FinbackBrewery for making the #Top25 #Beers of #DraftMag!

Cheers to Dogfish & Mateo’s New Corazón!

So, I remember having my first beer in Puerto Rico being a Medalla and feeling like, "Yeah this is something I like!“ A couple of beer years later I wound up in Costa Rica looking at my first bottles of Abbey style beers and thinking: “Man, I can really get behind this”.
A whole boat load of beers later I'm a total beer geek now living in Florida, which has become a theme park for us Hopheads, and find myself buying for the first time a Dogfish Head Brewery 120 minute IPA. I always wanted to treat myself to one but this time around I finally did so to celebrate my baby boy’s third heart surgery. I didn't know if this would be one of those over-hyped beers that would just fall flat on their praises.
Well, dear hopheads, it did not! From pouring and finishing this elegant-awe spiring-making me love even more beer and I know calling it a beer might be simplistic, just lived up to being an amazing hopped, sweet and ultimately balanced ale. Beer can be something to quench your thirst after cutting the grass on a warm summer day or just a rich complex celebratory drink to celebrate your baby’s life.
Here’s to you Dogfish Head Brewery and Mateo’s new heart, cheers!!

The Story of the F. & M. Schaefer Brewing Company of Brooklyn, New York. Excerpted by permission from Will Anderson's book, Breweries of Brooklyn.
As craft brewing is on the upswing in Brooklyn, once the beer capital of the United States, the old breweries are being redeveloped.
Interesting enough post with the exception of the presumptuous beginning. ("We all know... bla bla bla" - do we, though? Do we all know or are you just assuming we all know what you apparently do...?)
