The Roscoe Head!
Today I had the pleasure of stepping into this cosy traditional Liverpool pub on Roscoe Street, close to St. Luke's (bombed out church) and the Chinese arch. It was a fab visit to this quiet, yet talkative pub! No music, no TV, just chatter and good bevvies. They advertised this whiskey blend liqueur called Shanky's Whip, what's that you ask? A whiskey (made in Ireland) with vanilla & caramel! It was yummy! I also had a terrific citra session-Pale Ale from Scotland called Jarl. Good, really good beer! Refreshingly light, yet flavorful! If you are looking for that warm pub with unique beverages, pop on in!
[And the lucky folks who jumped on that bandwagon are still reaping the benefit …because one who knows not how to seek will never find. That's my kind of joint. This is Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub.]

My ghost girl 🤍
Leverage Brewpub Headcanons
In the beginning, when Elliot’s switching between stubbornly ignoring Hardison’s work on the brewpub and aggressively fixing things - namely the menu - he realizes that Hardison must have been paying at least some attention to his restaurant rants, because he’s managed to avoid several common rookie mistakes in the set up. But he has enough WTF moments to question that. This combination is because Hardison has deliberately messed up several things to get Elliot invested - mostly. There are a few honest mistakes because he can’t remember everything.
Shortly after the Broken Wing Job, Amy is named manager-in-place. This is less of an assistant position and really means that whenever the gang is out of town or focused on a job, she gets to be the one people talk to when they want to see the manager. She also handles schedule changes and things like that. She gets a lot of joy out of saying “I’m the manager” when people are being jerks.
Elliot ends up doing monthly self-defense classes almost completely by accident. He overheard one of the cooks worrying about her stalker-ish ex and, aside from taking care of the ex, offered to teach her a few self-defense things. This expanded to the rest of the staff, and then before one of the review days a guy asked if he could bring his little brother who was being bullied in school because he was a dancer, just to give the bullies second thoughts, and then other people wanted to bring family, and now there’s a self-defense class once a month in one of the back rooms.
Hardison has a big family discount for his employees and their families, but they don’t pay for food during their shifts. He gets Elliot to make something easily sharable each day, stuff like lasagna, stew, chili... and that’s lunch/dinner for the employees if they want it. Not everyone does everyday, but most of them really appreciate the option and Elliot ends up making a meal calendar that gets sent out with the shift schedules. One of the chefs takes care of it for him if he’s busy.
Someone put a snack basket in the break room, they were working 2 jobs at the time and would put in chips and things that had just expired, so they were still good, but now Parker likes to get cookies and stuff and keeps the basket stocked with that. She also has a habit of just randomly appearing. She wasn’t there and now she is. The regular staff get used to it within a month.
Elliot’s in charge of kicking people out, sometimes physically, but sometimes he’s not there and Parker is, and that’s almost scarier, because she looks like she’s contemplating stabbing the guy with the closest fork and Elliot just looks like he’s taking out a particularly smelly bad of garbage. Hardison isn’t scary but it never looks like he’s joking.
Everyone who works there agrees that their bosses are really weird. There are 2 separate bets going around one on what exactly Parker, Hardison, and Elliot’s relationship is and one on what exactly is going on with the team (why does this seem more like a hobby for Hardison why does Elliot keep showing up with injuries why does Parker mutter about master plans). Amy keeps a list of the funnier theories. But everyone likes working there, the regulars aren’t too bad, their bosses and coworkers are supportive and nice, and they get good pay with benefits.
But it’s still a weird place.
