one thing about tumblr is that it’s painfully obvious that everyone here always felt alienated due to not following mainstream trends and as a coping mechanism you’ve convinced yourself that you’re above it all, but now it’s just turned into a micro culture on the internet where as soon as something becomes popular suddenly you’re rolling your eyes and and scoffing. and I’m not just talking about typical “cringe culture” things like superwholock, I’m talking about things that are currently at their peak popularity but already have people getting stirred up saying ‘actually it’s not that good and people who like this are annoying’ pretty much for no other reason than The Thing is popular and they don’t like having positive associations with anything widely enjoyed
