I LOVE ERWIN SMITH. but like also sometimes i think he’s a virgin. there’s nothing wrong with being a virgin by the way, get that out of ur heads. but erwin has always been driven by fighting for humanity’s freedom, he never cared much about anything else. even in canon, he & nike liked the same girl, but instead of pursuing (not to put down nike, but erwin is bluntly the more charming & handsome of the two, it’s likely the girl would have chose erwin if he asked) her, he just let it go. nike settled down with this girl, married her & all that domestic shit. that could have been erwin, he’s wealthy. he could have had a nice life in the safety of the walls. but instead?? he fights, he puts his very ass on the line to further humanity’s progress. idk about u, but that’s fucking courage & it deserves to be praised.

just to let y'all know i wont be taking a hiatus on this blog only bc it's new, so whenever i feel like writing, ill pop in to do whatever i can!

        WITH DISCIPLINE SO PROFOUND HE HAD  been sitting there for hours.    ridges    &    patterns in the oak desk were etched permanently in his mind,    his gaze forever tracing its ups    &    downs as he wrote report after report.    there was a considerably large pile set to the side   ;   his ‘ finished ‘ pile.    &    here he is,    a feral beast they call guilt eating away at his insides,    leaving no room even for air.    nimble,    long fingers run up    &    down the bridge of his nose,    attempting to release the tension in his brow.    is this the reason some people would drink so much ?    to forget the very concept that humans feel such impalpably strong emotions ?    but he wouldn’t allow himself to indulge,    there was no occasion for him to do so.    if he was to suffer,    then he will.

but he’ll take a momentary break after finishing the day’s paperwork,    lids dropping as quickly as his pen does.    a man’s greatest enemy is his mind    &    erwin was no exception to this.    so when he heard the door open,    foot steps rung like church bells in his ears,    he’d take the opportunity to sit back,    eyes still closed.           ❝          i heard some of the new gossip around town            ❞             words drip with poorly masked exhaustion   (    he felt comfortable showing his true state among only a few   )   &   voice is tinged with a humor darker than the ink staining his fingers.           ❝            they think i’m too aged,    too senile    ;    they called me an old fool.    do you agree,    hange ?    am i a fool ?            ❞           a chuckle or two would slip past cracked    /    chapped lips,    the dull pain from stretching them was welcomed.    if it wasn’t for the small stings in his long days,    he might think he was truly dead.

erwin did so much y’all, like i have those ‘ no regrets ‘ books & like what the fuck. erwin revolutionized the survey corps. yeah he plays dirty, yeah he puts forth this heartless killer type of aesthetic but??? he’s the most caring person there is, he’s the kindest, the most warm, the most loyal. & bc he cared so much, he died.
