The droneās feed was crisp, a silent, hovering god watching the shadows of the Lower East Side. On your tablet, the HUD flickered with telemetry, but your eyes were fixed on the thermal heat signature of Natasha Romanoff. She was moving through the narrow alleyway, a silhouette of lethal grace, but you noticed the slight hitch in her stride. A subtle tremor in her hands.
"Defences are holding steady, Nat," you murmured into the private comms, your thumb lazily hovering over the 'Intensity' slider on the suit on the screen. "The plating is reinforced, just like we discussed. No structural weaknesses."
A sharp, stifled gasp crackled through your earpiece, followed by the sound of her back hitting a damp brick wall. On the drone cam, you saw her arch her spine, her head tilting back as her eyes fluttered shut. You didn't wait for her to respond; instead, you slid the toggle for the nipple stimulators up a notch.
"Nat? You okay? Your heart rate just spiked," you teased, your voice dropping an octave as you watched her chest heave.
"Fine... just... a momentary... distraction," she hissed, her voice strained, fighting to keep the tremor out of her tone. She was pressed against the cold, grime streaked wall, her legs trembling as the suitās internal motors began to hum against her sensitive peaks.
You leaned back in your chair, a smirk playing on your lips. You decided to to see just how much of that "Black Widow" composure you could strip away. You swiped a finger across the screen, activating the clitoral pulse setting.

Advice on Endings
I hate ending my stories. I will drag a story on long after it should have ended even though I know it should be done with. If anyone else struggles as well, here is a list of the different types of endings that are common.
Full Circle ā Mirror the beginning of the story, show how the tone has shifted from start to end
Bittersweet ā Character wins at the cost of something else, creates emotional depth
Emotional resolution ā Focuses more on the growth of the characters than the events of the story
Twist ā reveal something that changes the readers perspective or understanding
Open ā doesnāt answer all the questions or solve all the conflicts of the story, leaving room for interpretation
Quiet ā Subtle, reflective ending rather than a dramatic event
Sacrifice ā The character has to give something up to achieve a greater goal
Hopeful ā Despite the events of the story, there is a distinct sense that everything will be okay
Consequence ā Shows how the characters choices throughout the story impact the world or their relationship
Character choice ā centers on a decision that defines who the character has become through the story
Relationship Conflicts that donāt Center Romance
a healer in a plague-stricken city discovers their apprentice is immune to the symptoms, but also a silent carrier that is actively spreading the disease
two friends running a small criminal operation are offered immunity if one testifies against the other, but both begin separately planning to take the fall to protect the otherās future
a successful warlord meets their former apprentice, who has become a pacifist negotiator
after growing up in an extremely toxic environment, one sibling wants to leave and the other doesnāt understand why
when one of the kids of a supernatural hunter family is turned into a werewolf, their sibling needs to dismantle their belief system to help keep them safe
finding out that they only got their job because a friend pulled some strings without telling them causes someone to reevaluate their skill and success
former roommates at an academy for muscle-for-hire meet again. one has become a bodyguard, the other an assassin, and both now have the same mark
after finding out their best friend betrayed them years ago, they chose to get revenge now, as the pain is fresh
a spirit becomes accidentally attached to a random disaster of a person and helps them tackle everyday life

What happens when your character realizes they're in love...
Here are some things that may happen when your character realizes they are in love with someone. These can be totally obvious or be super subtle. I think that can depend on your character's mannerisms and personality! Have fun writing!
Notice everything. They start to notice things about the other person. Have freak outs when they notice they notice. They notice nervous ticks, small details no one else notices, patterns.
Hyperawareness. They become hyperaware of their own bodies and what they are doing as well as the other personās body. They are unable to think about anything other than how close the person is. What they smell like.
They may change their behavior. They may become mean, guarded or distant. They may embrace it, try to see how the other person feels. All that matters is nothing is as natural as it had felt like before. They may realize they want to share everything with that person or notice that they have been sharing everything and stop. Inconsistencies may occur where they are normal one day and distant the next while they try to make it appear like everything is the same.
Self-sabotage. Not all characters will do this, sometimes they will. They might think that the relationship will never happen and that it is doomed before it starts. It may cause them to pull away even more, stop hanging out and āprotectā themselves but ultimately push the other person away. Silence becomes deafening and everything is a sign of whether the other person feels the same.

That fic you wrote?
The one about the ship no one else cares about, or the deeply unpopular character, or the extremely unusual AU?
The fic that got no comments or kudos when you posted it?
Months or years from now, that fic might be exactly what someone is looking for in the sea of fics about all the popular characters, ships, and AUs.
Your fic might be the only fic out there that has what someone is looking for. The only fic that scratches the itch that it turns out you and that reader share.
And that's awesome.

Things to consider when Writing about Found Family!!
ā¹ Why can't they go back to their biological families. death? abuse? abandonment? disowned? running from something? sometimes people have families and just choose different people anyway. All valid but the reason matters for their emotional baggage
ā¹ How did they actually meet.Thrown together by circumstances? gradual friendship that deepened? trapped somewhere together? saved each other's lives? worked together and it just happened?
ā¹ What's the group structure. Is there a clear parental figure or is everyone equals. Are there siblings dynamics. the responsible one, the chaotic one, the baby of the group. Found families still have roles people fall into!!
ā¹ How long have they been together? Newly formed groups are still figuring each other out with awkward moments. Established ones have years of history and inside jokes and shared trauma
ā¹ What do they disagree about? found families aren't perfect just because they chose each other. They fight. They have different values and goals. Someone's always mad at someone else.
ā¹ Is everyone equally committed or is someone still holding back? Trust issues are real especially for people who've been abandoned before. Someone's probably scared to fully let people in
ā¹ Where do they live? Do they have a home base or are they always moving? Is it actually homey or kind of a mess? Who decorated? Whose stuff is everywhere? Do they have enough beds or are people on couches?
ā¹ What are their traditions. weekly dinners? birthday celebrations they never had as kids? annual trips? stupid inside jokes that became rituals?
ā¹ How do they show love. Some people are physically affectionate, some show love through acts of service, some are bad at emotions entirely but will absolutely kill for you.
ā¹ What happens when someone new wants to join? are they protective and suspicious? Immediately welcoming? Is there a test/hazing? does the group fight about whether to let them in?
ā¹ What happens when someone wants to leave. Do they let them go? Beg them to stay? Feel betrayed? People leaving found families hits different than biological ones!!
ā¹ How do they handle one of them dating someone outside the group.? protective interrogations? feeling replaced/jealous? genuinely happy for them?
ā¹ Do they have a shared purpose/goal or are they just together because they love each other. teams on a mission vs people who just became family. both work but feel different
ā¹ What's everyone's trauma and how does it affect the group? Because people who form found families usually have TRAUMA. How do they handle each other's bad days, triggers, nightmares, self-destructive behavior
ā¹ How far would they go for each other. just emotional support? lying to authorities? More?? where's the line and has anyone crossed it??
ā¹ Is there a "Black sheep" or someone who doesn't quite fit but is still included. The one who's pricklier, harder to love, keeps messing up. Do they keep trying with this person or is there a breaking point??
ā¹ How do they celebrate wins and handle losses together? grief shared is different. so is joy!!
Writing taught me that every person is the hero of a story where their choices make complete sense. every villain i've ever written believed they were right. every side character had somewhere else to be. the moment i started writing people that way i stopped being as confused by real ones. people are not inconsistent. they are consistent with a logic you haven't found yet. if you're confused by someone just ask what story they think they're in.

Y/N: what?
Wanda: a-a wife. Someone to spend your life with
Y/N: Iām thinking I just found her

Quick tips for Writing Villains!!
ā A villain who thinks they're the hero is scarier than one who knows they're evil.
ā Give them something they love. It makes everything worse.
ā Their logic should make sense, even if their actions don't.
ā The best villains don't monologue. They ask questions.
ā Not every villain needs a tragic backstory. Some people are just hungry for power.
ā Let them win sometimes. Repeatedly, it raises the stakes.
ā A villain who is polite is more unsettling than one who screams.
ā They should change the hero just as much as the hero changes them.
ā Give them a genuine friendship or loyalty somewhere. It humanizes without excusing.
ā The scariest thing a villain can do is be right about something.
ā Not every villain needs to die. Some walk away. Some become allies. Some just... disappear.
ā A villain with a sense of humor is dangerous because you almost like them.

Ways to write Slow Burn Romance!!
āąØą§ā Give them reasons they CAN'T be together that aren't just manufactured drama. Not miscommunication. Not love triangles. Not arbitrary "I push people away" trauma with no real exploration. Give them REAL obstacles: they're on opposite sides of a conflict, timing is wrong, there are actual consequences to being together, they have incompatible life goals, there's a power imbalance they need to resolve first. The obstacles should be meaningful and require actual character growth to overcome, not just a conversation.
āąØą§ā Make the friendship foundation SO STRONG that readers ship them before the romance even starts. They should genuinely LIKE each other. They should have inside jokes. They should seek each other out just to hang out. They should trust each other. They should have fun together. When the romantic feelings start developing, it should feel like "oh no, I don't want to ruin this friendship" because the friendship is genuinely valuable. Readers should be able to believe they'd still choose to be in each other's lives even if romance never happened.
āąØą§ā Let the tension BUILD in layers over time. First they notice each other. Then they start seeking excuses to be near each other. Then they start getting jealous. Then they start having Moments. Then they start thinking about each other constantly. Then comes the almost-kisses. Then the accidental intimacy. Then the barely-hidden feelings. Each phase should have time to breathe before moving to the next level. Slow burn means SLOW - readers should be desperate for them to get together LONG before they actually do.
āąØą§ā Show how they change each other gradually. He starts smiling more because of her. She becomes braver because he believes in her. They adopt each other's habits and phrases. They start to see the world differently because of the other person's influence. Slow burn is about showing two people gradually becoming essential to each other's lives. They should be woven into each other's character development, not separate from it.
āąØą§ā Make the payoff WORTH the wait. After chapters or books of tension, the moment they finally get together should be EARNED and SATISFYING. A CONVERSATION where they're finally honest. A moment where they choose each other despite the obstacles. A confession that feels like a dam breaking. The first kiss should feel like the conclusion of a long journey and the beginning of something new. Readers have been waiting for this, so make it count. Make it feel like YES, THIS WAS WORTH IT.
