A Car Ride, belgian-jager
He was stepping over a tossed flat tire, the weeds and dead brush crunching under his boots. Nikolai spared Noah a quick glance. He returned to scanning the bushes encasing the backyard. “What are you doing here,” came the dry monotone voice.
He busied himself by walking over to the small storage hut and kicking its door open. Nothing but… a shitload of potato sacks and grain barrels. Of course, the tacos.
When the presence behind still lingered, his eyes swept coolly over Noah. He took in the man’s pale face and arched a brow. Nikolai decided not to mention it. He took out a small black device and planted it in the dead grass. Nikolai flipped it on and a red light blinked alive. A line of light began to scan the surrounding area. “This’ll take a while to send me the heat signatures. Meanwhile,” he stalked over at Noah towards the door. “We go back inside to investigate.”
He was silent for a moment, thinking about what would be a ‘normal’ reply. “I was.. checking on you.” Jagers checked up on each other, right? Instead of returning inside to ‘investigate’, the mutant stayed quite still, observing Nikolai intensely.
He studied the way he walked, and tried to make out any possible weapons on him. Nothing. Of course, that was to be expected of Jagers. It would probably be easier to take this one out and then move onto the next.
Staring at the device, he was tempted to ask what it was for. That, however, wouldn’t help him play the part of a Jager. “Investigate..”, he blinked, realizing that Nikolai was ready to go inside. Without giving the situation much thought, he instantly moved to block the door. He stared at Nikolai stoically, “What’s there to investigate? There’s nothing inside.” He gestured in the opposite direction, giving Nikolai a little nudge. “We should go.” The words came out sounding utterly emotionless.
Uhm well…[she’s only ever had it made for her–]
Let’s just go to the closest place and go from there. Sounds good, eh?
Ja, sounds good.
[hums] There’s one a few blocks down. I passed it once when I got lost.
[starts leading the way]

[Grunts] Such as this animal mutants project. I got myself into it [in a humiliating way in front of superior] now I have to go through it. [I was fucking high or something] It was yesterday afternoon. A spider had crawled onto my shoulder without my notice surprisingly. Then Sofi comes along with a spider on her shoulder. It fucked me up, man.
[smirks] You bag me one and then we’ll see, alright?
[stares at Niko’s legs][rolls eyes] This is amazing.You actually admitted to acting like a fool! [starts an out of beat tap on Niko’s leg]
[his eyes light up a bit at the thought of a mutant project] So you need to find out more on animal mutants? Count me in. Mutants are fascinating, no? [perks up] Sofi, huh? Did she freak out? Did you? [ohoho wait a second]
You know.. Now that you mention it, I have seen a lot of spiders around the estate lately. Not that I’d follow them, that’s icky, but... [insert innocent look] that is weird.
