there he is!! the most beautiful boy!
holy shit i drew a background
upstanding
Blizzards. Who cared about blizzards? He was an ice-based monster; it wasnāt as if he was going to freeze to death.
So he was being buffeted and coated by heavy snowfall, in a frosty forest he didnāt know his way around. So WHAT?Ā
Talons kicking their way through the ever-frozen slush underfoot, Snowdrake continued his blind rush through the trees already well-laden with white. Ice Cap, having noticed the impeding storm, had already taken his leave hours ago to retreat home. Not that he blamed the other monster for not inviting him; after all, they had only just met. (SOUL mainly made of compassion or not, monsters could still be rotten no-good individuals.)
But that still left him with nowhere to go, unless he felt like being buried in frozen water - which he didnāt.Ā His feathers all a-ruffle, plumage puffed out in some sort of pathetic defense against the obscuring storm, Snowdrake wasnāt even sure where he was going. He wasnāt familiar with this territory, hadnāt even seen the Snowdin Forest in its entirety before the weather had descended.
A lurch of shuddering hesitation overtook him, his claws slowing to a stop in the snow below him as the avian realised something; there were cliffs here, edges that fell into nothing but rocks and trees jutting up from below. Bird monster or not, he didnāt want to take his chances with that.
He could barely see trees whipping in front of him until he narrowly avoided the buffeting, chastening blow of a branch. There wasnāt a, hah,Ā āsnowballāsā chance in hell that heād be able to perceive an edge until he went barreling off of it, at the pace he had been going.
In the howling not-quiet silence (that is to say, the noisy background sound which wasnāt silence at all) that accompanied the fierce wind, Snowdrake could have sworn he picked up the booming cry of a voice calling out somewhere close to him - close enough for him to hear, at least, even if he could not discern the exact whereabouts of the stranger.
Who else would be out and about in such abysmal a storm? Feathery tail slowly rising up like a tiny flag, the rest of his down also expanding out of caution - not feeling threatened yet, but definitely a puff of wariness, because what if it was his Dad trying to force him home? Never mind that he didnāt recognise the voice; maybe the other āDrake had hired someone. He didnāt want to see hide nor hair of his old man. Not right now. Maybe not ever. - Snowdrake stood his ground and turned, head cocked at an angle warily as he attempted to discern the origin of that shout.
The monsterās shoulders dropped slightly upon spotting the skeleton approaching him, though he still remained cautious. Not his father, but still possibly someone who had been employed by him.
āWho are you?ā He demanded of the monster in the scarf with as gruff a tone as he could manage, trying to menace the taller being with a tough exterior if nothing else.
(For a while, your trudging through the snow appeared to be fruitless. Despite having seen something pass by you earlier, you discovered no trace of whatever it was on the path that you forged in the drift; no sign of the bright blue that caught your eye sockets, and now you found yourself rather lost within the strongly buffeting wind. Not that that was a problem, per say, because if you absolutely needed to get out on your own, you could bend time and space, but at this point you knew that their brother was likely out here looking for you. You figured it was probably a better opportunity, and more likely to reap more rewards, if you went looking for him instead. After all, it was difficult to miss Papyrus, especially when he was shouting for you.)
(In your pushing against the stormfront in order to walk back to Snowdin, your brotherās voice carried even in the turmoil of the storm. Lead it to Papyrus to yell louder than the Underground.)
STAND STILL IāM COMING TO RESCUE YOU!!!Ā
(So, of course, the only logical conclusion for you would be to not stand still and instead approach the voiceās origin. Stuffing your hands within your hoodie pockets after moving the hood itself just enough so it didnāt cover your eye sockets, you pressed through the wind, your slippers providing very little shove against the natural suck that happened to be the down underneath your feet. You just counted yourself lucky that you didnāt outright drop into the snow because it was too big for you and you stepped over a natural hollow hole, as had happened from time to time ā an event that Undyne and Papyrus often found outright hilarious.)
(It didnāt take long before you found him. As well as someone else.)
(Oh.)
(This was the monster you were looking for, wasnāt it? Welp.)
(Look at him, all puffed up as if Papyrus was any threat. Hah! You figured before a fight could start you should step in. Your brother would thank you later.)
*hey, bro. iām here.
(You waltzed in close enough that even within theĀ ācanāt-see-anything-more-than-a-few-feet-in-front-of-youā conditions, you were pretty visible. Your hoodie stood out naturally within the white, anyway.)
*icy you arenāt here alone.
(Added a finger gun, for good measure.)
Ā Ā The snow was coming down on them in freezing blankets, it was impossible to know where to step and the depth rose to well above the skeletonās knee caps, which wasnāt a problem for a monster as tall as him, but Sans would be buried undead at this rate. It was cold enough to chill right through the bones.Ā
Ā Ā As the glimpse of blue he had previously spotted slowly came into view, he noted how considerably smaller his brother appeared to be.
Ā Ā Ā āāOH NO, BROTHER--! HAS THE STORM TAKEN YOU? AM I TOO LA--āā
Ā Ā āāĀ ---WAIT, I DONāT REMEMBER YOU BEING SO FEATHERY... Ā ---OH NO, YOU MUST BE A LOST CHILD! DO NOT WORRY, YOUNG MONSTER, THE GREAT PAPYRUS IS HERE IS SAVE YOU, TOO !!!Ā āā
Ā Ā The little monsterās demeanour and stand-offish tone had clearly gone right over the concerned skeletonās skull. Papyrus was becoming needlessly frantic, standing over the bird as though to protect him from the storm, not noticing that the little one was in-fact an ice monster.
Ā Ā Ā āā BROTHER? IS THAT YOU !?! THANK GOO--- SANS !!! NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR PUNS! Ā CANāT YOU SEE WE HAVE AN INNOCENT CHILD HERE? THEY MUST BE TERRIFIED !!! āā
Ā Ā He would usually be stamping his foot in frustration at an untimely pun, but he was hampered by the snow. He was however, utterly relived to see Sans safe, and once he was done being annoyed, he plucked his short sibling out of the snow and tucked him under his arm.
Ā Ā Ā āā COME FELLOWS! WE MUST FORGE ONWARDS TO THE INN!Ā āā
Ā Ā Papyrus was pointing dramatically in the wrong direction.

(Itās a particularly harsh, stormy day. With the snow barreling in at top speeds, itās any wonder that the weather can turn out so tumultuous ā especially within the Underground, in which the monsters are isolated from the outer rim of sunlight. Of course, the connection isnāt completely severed, as traces of weather patterns from the surface sometimes trickle in through the cracks, though in all likelihood this particular storm is the direct result of ice magic gone wrong. This isnāt a problem for most of the inhabitants within Snowdin, as they can simply retreat in their homes and disappear for a little while; but for you, itās a major pain.)
(You clutch your hoodie tight across your skull, hiding your eye sockets with the fabric and thus being unable to see as you meander through the forest. Youād been caught entirely off guard by this particular weather front; youād been out in your post, watching out for humans as per usual, preparing to let your brother know if you see one. After all, youāve been noticing as of late heās been a little down, and you figure that a human sighting might cheer him up. Of course, it doesnāt occur to you that it might be impossible to catch sight of a human when youāre all bundled up as you are, but thatās neither here nor there.)
(Itās likely that your brother has noticed the eccentric weather patterns, and is approaching you in an attempt to bring you to the Inn, and thatās just as well; itās not too safe for non-ice monsters to be out and about. The only reason youāre not attempting to locate it yourself is that you thought you saw something out of the corner of your eye socket right before it kicked up. A dash of some monster, which makes no sense since most ice-type monsters are able to pick up on these currents and take themselves to safety, and it has you curious. Youāre way too lazy to pick up an actual pursuit, but as you amble through the snow, you figure that you might run right into whoever it was on your way.)
(You seem to have a habit of running into trouble, after all, even when youāre being too lazy to go anywhere near it.)
Ā Ā Papyrus had noticed the rising erratic weather alright-- the severity of which had laid utter waste to the skeletonās makeshift guard station. Granted it was only a cardboard box he had decorated elaborately with Sans, but it was disheartening to see his promising career fly off in the intense blizzard. He would have to find a new box now, and it had to be perfect and befitting of a future Royal Guard.
Ā Ā Incidentally, Papyrus had abandoned his efforts in securing the station in favour of locating his older sibling. After all, Sans was his priority and he had to look after him, especially since he was slowing down more and more lately. Hopefully Sans had not noticed his own discouragement as of late, but he was an expert at concealing his true feelings when he wanted to.
Ā Ā Clutching his scarf, the towering, bony monster made great use of his stature to wade through the deep snow toward his brotherās station. Please be there, Sans.Ā Papyrus didnāt end up venturing far from his post before he caught eye socket of blue though the vicious, swirling snow.
Ā Ā āā ---NYEH? BROTHER !!! IS THAT YOU !?! WHY IN THE SAKE OF THE GREAT PAPYRUS ARE YOU WANDERING AROUND IN THIS WEATHER !?! YOUāLL GET HURT ANDĀ YOU ONLY HAVE ONE HP !!! STAND STILL IāM COMING TO RESCUE YOU !!! āā
[ I went to check in on everyone and I was not disappointed. ]
Some skelebros growing upĀ
If it wasnāt obvious in the last one, Sans is just prepping his costume.
Fresh Snow :D
āAhh..Papyrus is going to be annoyed. Iām supposed to do training with him and well, I got caught up in stuff. Well, itās not my fault that my Dad wanted my attention over mechanical issues.ā
Ā Ā Ā āā NYEH? YOU HAVE RETURNED, MY NEW APPRENTICE !!! I AM NOT ANNOYED, I AM MERELY GLAD WE CAN RESUME OUR TRAINING! THE GREAT PAPYRUS HAS ALSO BEEN BUSY LEARNING NEW THINGS FROM THE SUPER COOL UNDYNE! I AM READY TO PROVIDE YOU WITH LOVING GUIDANCE! NYEH HEH HEH !!!Ā āā
You see Papyrus and Sans laughing at a terrible pun. Ā
It fills you with⦠DETERMINATION.Ā
