“I swear I heard ‘Chuck Bass’ being said around in here. I hope for your sake it’s all good things.”
“You’re as scary as a plucked chicken.”
queenbeeblair:
“It never ceases to amaze me how my mother thinks that simply sending me gifts will suffice for her absence.”
“Oh, boo woo. Poor little rich girl. My condolences.”
sparksonfire:
“Uh—” Caught off guard by the question, she was even more caught off guard by the way the child was reaching out for what seemed to be her. It was her, right? The child was staring directly at her? And to think she gave off vibes of willing others to be distant from her. “That’s probably not a good idea. I’d—drop her, or something.” And yet the little girl continued leaning for her. “You should tell her I’m a Queen.. probably not an evil one though, that might scare her.” A smirk touched at her lips.
Bella smirked, sensing Katherine’s discomfort as she picked up the little girl instead. “Sabrina, why don’t you go run off with your friends? They’re playing soccer over there.” She said and the little girl jumping down, running off, waving. Bella turned to Katherine and sighed. “You are a queen. So what is the queen doing here? Looking for me, maybe?” Bella smirked, tilting her head to the side. “Wanting to join me in my plan for world domination against the Bass family?”
alexiabransn:
“Well, they’ll get one, in the end. Plus, for some, this situation might be better than to be left with their parents,” Lexi said with a smile. There were plenty of horrible things to read in the newspaper about parents abusing their children in some way or another. “Volunteering? Oh, no, I’ve actually.. Never been here before, but it’s on my way to school, and with summer here and everything, I thought it’d be nice to stop by. Find my inner child again,” she joked before nodding. “The one and only. And you’re.. “ she said as she trailed off and bit her lower lip. She’d always been bad with names.
Bella nodded, sighing. “Luckily for them, this group home isn’t bad. It’s got good people caring for them, but there’s a difference between caretaker and parent, you know?” Bella shrugged and smiled at Alexia’s reasoning. “I like that reason. It’s sweet. I think a lot of the Upper East Side can get in touch with their inner innocent child. We should start a campaign.” She giggled and stuck out her hand. “Oh, I’m Bella! I’m not sure if we met before. It’s really good to meet you, Lexi. Officially.”
beatrice-grimaldi:
“I don’t think it’s possible to resist that smile, so I’ll have to agree. It’s insane, really, but maybe their intentions were good. We can only hope. Well, at least you get to see her often, I suppose?”
Bella smiled at Beatrice and whispered something to Sabrina, who only smiled wide and got down, curtsying in front of the princess herself. “Welcome to the orphanage, Princess Beatrice.” The little girl said, giggling, shyly, going back over to Bella. Bella laughed and smiled. “I told her you’re a princess. Sabrina here wants to be a professional princess. This is sort of her dream right now.” Bella chuckled and nodded. “Yes, I do. I come as often as I can. Sabrina here is a very special little girl, aren’t you, Sabrina? You can sing and dance and you love to perform for everyone.” Bella looked up at Beatrice and smiled, as Sabrina whispered into Bella’s ear, wildly shy. “She says you’re so beautiful.”
alexiabransn:
“Oh, hello Sabrina,” Lexi said after the girl, who Lexi remembered was Bella, had introduced the child. “She is cute,” Lexi went on as she tickled the child in Bella’s arms. “But someone as gorgeous as her, she’ll get adopted in no time, won’t she?”
Bella smiled as the blonde tickled Sabrina, who only giggled and got down, going to run off with her little friends. “Yeah, I hope so. A lot of these kids need to be adopted. The caregivers here do so much for them, but they need a family. I think everyone needs a family, you know?” Bella smiled and sighed. “I didn’t know you volunteered here. You’re Lexi, right?”
sparksonfire:
“Bella? I never knew you were.. into kids.”
“I love kids. They’re adorable and not as jaded as adults. Especially these kids here in the orphanage. They’re so full of spirit, so positive and sweet. Are you into kids?” Bella said, looking up and smiling as the little girl in her arms reached out for Katherine. “Aww, do you want to hold her? She speaks only French, but she said you’re really beautiful, like a princess.”
bravebxnnie:
“Totally. Except for this one time they completely dumped water over my head when I was watching them. It was cute, but not cute at the same time. You know? I had a review after and it was terrible– but, hilarious, I had to admit.”
Bella laughed and smiled, as she saw Sabrina go and play with the other little children. “Aww, yeah, they’ve done that to me before, too. They love to play, they’re so adventurous.” She said and chuckled. “I didn’t know anyone else from Constance volunteered here. It’s nice though, to see a familiar face. I thought Constance girls were too good to volunteer, especially at a dirty orphanage filled with poor kids.” Bella rolled her eyes at the assumption.
The summer had been quiet, though it was to be expected, with everyone retreating to their summer homes, in the Hamptons. Christian, thankfully, had spent most of his down time straightening up the Capri in his brothers notable absence. Ankle deep in a stack of paper work, the near empty bar his temporary office as the night wound down, he’d barely noticed the approaching figure, and it was only when they spoke that he acknowledged them at all. “I didn’t expect to be graced with your presence at all this summer, clearly, I should have planned ahead.
“Yes. You should have. I am, after all, on your side.”
“Hey— you’re Bella, right? I didn’t know you volunteered here. Hey there, Sabrina!”
“Yeah, I’m Bella. You’re Bonnie, right?” Bella said, smiling softly as she put Sabrina down, the little girl going to run off to play. “Yeah, have been for a few years. My parents did a story on the orphanage once for their magazine and when we visited it, I just...fell in love with the kids here. Aren’t they so sweet?”
“This little cutie loves to play with my hair. Don’t you, Sabrina? Ha, isn’t she precious? It’s hard to believe anyone would want to put this little princess in an orphanage. Such a bitter shame. I wish I could adopt her.”
where does your heart lie for liam madison?
Always with him. Always.
Ow!
Liam leaned a bit more of his weight on her then usual. Not because he wanted to, but because his body simply needed to. “Thanks..” He licked his lips briefly and gained his balance. “I uh, my meds are in my car.. So we can either grab them and take your car or.. Well, we can take my car too. It’s really up to you since you’re the superhero today.” Through his pain he found a smile. “Superheroes choice.”
“Whoa there Abrams, I’m not that much in pain..“ He said, fishing his keys out of his pocket. Although, if he was being honest with himself, it would probably be better for her to drive. He seemed to think better of it by the time they reached his car, and eyed the keys in his hands carefully. “Actually–fine. But please be careful.” He pushed the keys gently into her hands.
Bella giggled, taking the keys, as if she had been handed the key to the city. “Yes! I’m so excited! I’ve been wanting to drive your car since forever.” She exclaimed and feigned being offended when he told her to be careful. “Me? Not careful? Wherever did you get that idea? I’ll treat the wonderful car as if it’s my own child.” She said, strapping her little self in and scoffed, rolling her eyes. “You and your long, gazelle legs. I can barely reach the pedals.” She said, moving the driver’s seat up as far as it would go and still having to reach. Bella smiled over at Liam as she turned the key in the ignition and started the door, backing out, roughly. “Hold on, nerdo.” She teased him, going right into the traffic of New York and giggling, honking. “Move out of the way, buddy!” She honked and giggled, turning to Liam. “This is the most fun ever.” Her eyes sparkled, happy to be with Liam.
lA eyebrow raised above his eye, as she spat at him, her words like daggers that were merely missing his head by centimeters. While he’d love to really put her in her place he wouldn’t bother wasting a single yelled word on such an insignificant being. Crossing his arms over his chest he waited until she finished. Chuck shook his head, and let an arrogant grin sneak onto his features. “Say, and threaten all you want, Brooklyn, there’s absolutely no way in hell we’d ever be in a fair fight. Though I’d love to see you try, fail and attempt to clean up the mess you’ll find yourself in once I’ve had someone else finish you. And if and when I decide to tear your reputation apart not even a job stripping at that wretched casino will be available to you.” He replied cooly, a still menacing glow in eyes. “Game on.”
Bella wanted to slap the arrogance out of him, him and his stupid little smirk. She took in a deep breath, shaking her head. “You have no idea what you’re up against. Klaus Mikaelson is lethal, more lethal than you could ever be. You’re nothing compared to him, neither is your daddy and precious little Kenna. He’ll hurt everyone you love, Chuck Bass, and while I belive no one should get hurt, all is fair in love and war and when it comes to the Bass family? I can’t help but think that you deserve all that you get. You can’t treat people with such disdain and arrogance and not expect them to fight back after a while. I’m not afraid of you. I’m not afraid of your little girlfriend. But you should be afraid of me, because without even realizing, you let me tutor you. You let me talk to you and let me get to know you. All of that, those months, you let me in and you didn’t even know.” Bella smirked to herself, shaking her head. “And I don’t have to remind me of my geniu IQ. I’ll bring you down to your knees with one hand and your cousin? She’ll just be a part of it. Innocent colleral damage.” She glared at him, and when he spoke of stripping, her veins went cold. She said nothing though, shaking her head. “You’re going to regret this.”
“For godsake, Bella she’s not in a cage? Kenna just has minders, not abusive guards. I thought you were smart, you see everything my father does he keeps in mind his public image. Locking Kenna up would be disastrous.” Chuck said smugly, crossing his arms over his chest, and watching Bella’s face twist angrily. “But you’re certainly not a saint, Abrams. While I knew everyone had a dark side, I wasn’t prepared to discover that yours was the darkest of them all. Sure we were never what I would call friends, but I was beginning to respect your wit and tenacity. In an instant you changed all that. I have always been the same Chuck Bass, no bullshit. You, on the other hand are a liar. Not even that, you’re a desperate hypocrite who sought out the help from Klaus, someone who will never get any sort of power. If you were smart you’d put your faith in something that’s real.” He sneered at her, his eyes squinting, a habit he developed when he was feeling his most frustrated. “You ruined Kenna, Brooklyn. I did nothing, but save her. What’s the point of this back and forth, Abrams. You have everything to lose, and I have everything to gain.”
Bella shook her head, smiling bitterly. “I am smart. I am smarter than you, your family, your entire family.” She stated, as if it were an engaved fact. She leaned closer, her eyes narrowed to slits, of pure hatred. “You have no idea what I am or who I am, nor what I’m capable of. What are you capable of, Charles? Throwing tantrums, partying? You’re nothing, you do know that, right? You have not one original thought in your head. All you do, all you care about is pleasing Daddy, and even he won’t have anything to do with you.” Bella gritted through her teeth, something she’d learned from Klaus. “Something that’s real? You’re nobody in my book, Chuck Bass. Just another spoilt Upper East Side baby that has no idea what they’re doing. I never did a thing to your cousin. All she had to do was know that there are people out there that will accept her as she is, unlike you and your father. Just wait, Bass. You’re going down.” Bella smirked and was about to turn away, but instead sneered close to him. “And in case you didn’t already know, that was a threat.”
“Better, actually. I mean, they wouldn’t have let me out otherwise,” he explained, stepping a step back after settling her down. “I miss you too, I appreciate the short visit from before– not sure if I thanked you for that.”
“Ahh, you miss little old me? That’s nice.” Bella giggled, putting a piece of hair behind her ears. “Don’t mention it. It was good to see you there, getting better. That’s all I can ask for. If you ever need anything, you know I’m just a text away.” Bella smiled.
It truly hurt Bella to see Liam in pain. It hurt like a nail to her heart, seeing as she was always going to be in love with him. It was just the way it was. She loved everything about him and her opinion of him would never change. To Bella, he was the best guy in all of Manhattan. “Oooh! Let’s take your car. I want to drive it, though. You never would let me drive it and we both know I’m clearly the best drive.” Bella giggled, holding out her hands for the keys. “I am, after all, the superhero!”
