The Shape Of Water was my introduction to Guillermo Del Toro's work. As I've grown accustomed to with his other movies, the special effects and creature/monster makeup and CGI were incredible. I found myself also able to relate to the underlying themes of otherness and finding connection with those average society considers "other" as well. All in all, I love this film and highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't yet seen it.

What We Do In The Shadows was the first vampire movie I ever watched. The tongue-in-cheek mockumentary style sets this film far apart from other, darker, vampire flicks. While I think the film's spinoff tv show of the same name is also quite funny, very little can top this one for me, except for maybe The Lost Boys.

The Lost Boys is by far my favorite vampire film and is one of my favorite films of all time, just in general!

By far one of my favorite films of the German Expressionist movement. The steeply angled buildings of the fanciful sets provide the perfect backdrop for a tale of magic, murder, and mental illness. In addition to being one of my favorite Expressionist films, it's also one of my favorite silent films, and is free to stream on Youtube.
