This art piece is called “Marriage LAMENT (black) LAUD (white)” which are two canvases combined made from repurposed Kipot (Kippah; traditional Jewish head covering worn during Temple and ceremonies ...weddings...) from my wedding that never took place. So, what to do with custom made leather Kipot that has bad Karma attached...make art!

Hello! So my daughter Sydney and I are finishing our book..”When the Flamingo Barked and Fish Flew”. This is the story of my childhood with my Grandmother and her battle with schizophrenia. As my daughter herself was diagnosed a few years ago (as any of us along this journey knows it wasn’t a bump-less road but came to this current diagnosis), and I myself live with Bipolar, we have worked with our talents to co-write and illustrate this beautiful and touching children’s book. Sydney has done most of the artwork (I am a proud Momma), at the age of 13 and I, the writing. I will give further updates as far as Publisher, date of release and please remember a portion of proceeds will go the the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Organization. Thank you.
